I still dont think he will be traded mainly cuz he will be worth much more in the offseason. I think the FO has marked this as a done season and are just gonna try to reload in the offseason. I dont blame them right now.Pau on Trade "certainly looks like a possibility to me" courtesy of Craig Sager

Pasol has been sucking since the mavs series with Phil. He needs to go.People fail to realize that pau was ballin while we had mike Brown the first 5 games n he was pretty good when we had bickerstaff but once dantoni stepped in things went downhill so it really is the man's system that's [expletive]in gasol's game up. I don't want him 2 go,obviously Kobe wants em 2 stay. I said this b4,Lakers aren't gonna trade gasol bcuz they don't no if Howard is stayin. Y trade gasol, lose Howard n be up [expletive] creek with 2 big men gone!?!?!?!

People fail to realize that pau was ballin while we had mike Brown the first 5 games
Dallas - 23/16
Portland - 14/5
Clippers - 10/14
Detroit - 14/5
Utah - 5/7
Outside of the first game against Dallas, that's not technically ballin' in the other four following

He averaged 41% shooting those first 5 games with 13 points a game. Not exactly balling.People fail to realize that pau was ballin while we had mike Brown the first 5 games n he was pretty good when we had bickerstaff but once dantoni stepped in things went downhill so it really is the man's system that's [expletive]in gasol's game up. A team trading for him because he's expiring would most likely want the Lakers to take on a big contact, which isn't happening. The Lakers don't have the assets along with his expiring to get something great.

No a player who is has such a huge expiring contract is extremely valuable for teams that are rebuilding. Gives them massive cap room in 2014.I still don't see the logic in waiting until the offseason to trade Pau.

also teams are much more willing to trade in the offseason. Why limit our trade offers to trade offers like the raptors when that wouldn't even do anything for this season and when this season is already over. Might as well get as much out of pau as possible.
This season is over. To trade pau for some ok players just to improve this season would not be the best plan. We must plan for next season right now.

Trade market for Pau Gasol complicated because Lakers have made clear that they don't want back long-term money in deal, league sources say.

What are some examples of great players getting traded for just expirings? Pau was traded for expirings, draft picks, and the rights to Marc Gasol. Pau's expiring by itself isn't going to attract anything that the Lakers would want to sacrifice their 2014 cap space for.
It's not just to save this season. I don't think his value is going to get any better.

Even the Lakers - flush with cash - don't want the tax burden of Dwight Howard (assuming he signs), Kobe Bryant and a third massive salary.
