Not sure if this has been posted before but apparently Lakers not sure of they want to trade Gasol because they are unsure about Howards future as a Laker.

So if Howard does leave it is probably better to lose another year with Pau. This team needs to figure out that a team centered around Pau Gasol and Kobe Bryant won't be doing more than making the playoffs, if that. Want some proof, check out this season.

Gasol is a starter in the league still IMO. Maybe just not on this team
Exactly!
Pau have never played well as a PF, not on this team anyways. When we won the two rings, he was basically playing heavy minutes at the C with Odom at the PF spot.
Regarding this:

I agree to some degree. Giving Pau up for whatever will be a problem if Dwight decides to leave. But seriously, if Dwight decides to leave, we're [expletive]ed anyways. I'd say roll the dice and move Pau for a piece or two (...or three). If we get the right pieces, we should be able to make a late season push.
Actually, why not just ask Dwight what he thinks?

Why should he come off the bench?
Because he [expletive]ing sucks! I don't know why some people can't get this thru their skulls.
He needs consoling like a baby when he gets benched for his pathetic play; and then he whines and NEVER takes accountability for playing like [expletive] for over two years and robbing this franchise.
It's not about who else on the team is a better fit at PF or C, it's about Pau Gasol sucks ANYWHERE on the basketball court.
It's not about if he plays with the starters or the 2nd unit...he will suck with whomever is around him. He has proven this year after year and people still keep making excuses for this sorry mutha[expletive]a.
There's no reason to pay 20 mil dollar for a garbage ass player that won't rebound, won't defend, won't hustle, won't run the floor, and won't do ANYTHING to win games.
One of the worst Lakers EVER.

He's in the class of Sasha Vujacic, Luke Walton, and Jordan Farmar now.
He continues to prove his worthlessness game after game, season after season, playoff after playoff.

I think most of us want to see more of Earl Clark instead of him. Think about that. Earl *expletive* Clark.

Yeah, but if Howard leaves it kind of makes sense to keep Pau if you're focused on rebuilding. We'll have so much money coming off the books after next year.So if Howard does leave it is probably better to lose another year with Pau. This team needs to figure out that a team centered around Pau Gasol and Kobe Bryant won't be doing more than making the playoffs, if that. Want some proof, check out this season.
Completely agree if they want to win now. Pau isn't helping this team at all.

Fixed.
I agree with the majority of your post, but why don't you never show up when Howard has a bad game? You can't blame Pau Gasol for all Lakers' struggles.
Arguably the greatest franchise ever

One of the worst ever?! You're showing your age and history knowledge there a little bit. Never analyze with your heart instead of your head.
Simmer down.

Howard hasn't even been here a full season AND he's coming off back surgery. Despite all that, he's still putting up solid numbers.
Gasol has been pulling this houdini act on gullible LA fans for years.

Windu, that's one of the dumbest things you've ever said.

Simmer down.
Can you defend Pau Gasol? Can anyone refute what I'm saying? You've watched the games just as I have and you've seen him repeatedly fold.

I'm not saying he's playing fabulous, but he is not even CLOSE to one of the worst Lakers ever, that is a seriously ridiculous over-exaggeration.
For 20 million, can you name someone else?

You want worse players? David Rivers, Demetrius Calip, Alex Blackwell, JR Reid, Benoit Benjamin, Danny Schayes, Joe Klein, Greg Foster, Sean Rooks, Lloyd Daniels - you need more?
You've got to calm down.
Don't let emotion rule your brain, you'll always come out losing in the end.
