Interesting statements but I'm not sure what you think of as "depth". Expound s'il vous plait...

who knows who comes up in the trade talk anyone really like a solid back up PG or a combo guard. In addtion to that maybe a SF. What im saying is we can get alot more for Josh than pau and ATL would want pau because he is an expiring next year and that 19 mill give you a lot of play room for the future which is were they want to start at zero.

They look like they play much more smoothly without Pau. I love the guy but its definitely time to trade him for some bench pieces. It showed in that last 4 minutes of the first qtr against the Bucks that our bench has no structure. Nearly every shot what a jacked up three. We need someone who can create their own shot. Now that we have Earl, i think we have room to move Pau. Earl's stats didn't look amazing last night but what didn't show was his energy and hustle. Those huge rebounds he gets when he jumps from the free throw are second to none. You wont see Pau doing that. I also would rather have 8 points a night from Earl from 8 shots than 12 points from Pau from 15 shots and shooting 30%. We have too many guys on this team who need shots and Pau needs his 15 shots a game to make an impact.

I've always been a fan of Josh Smith because of his defense, rebounding and athleticism.

Could you imagine lineups of Dwight/Smith/Clark/Kobe/Nash? Thats very difficult to matchup with and we could have both our big men get down the floor at a high pace.

People that are complaining about Josh Smith's attitude need to realize he will be playing with his BEST FRIEND in the league... Attitude won't be an issue.

Agree the attitude is likley coming from him being unhappy in the way the organization (Hawks) is going. Although its not acceptable not matter the circumstances he does not have a cousins type of personality

Personally, I think he's more or less frustrated with the team and the current situation they are in.

Are there any chance that we can land Josh Smith at this point?

I mean, he is clearly not happy in Atlanta, where he just got suspended for "conduct detrimental to the team" and i think there is a big chance that he walks this summer - i mean why wouldn't he?

If we (Mitch and co.) offered Pau, Hill, Meeks and Morris for Josh Smith, Anthony Morrow and Deshawn Stevenson wouldn't they at least consider it? Stevenson is overpaid, Morrow is barely playing and Smith isn't happy and they might as well face the facts: They're a second round playoff exit, at best. If they did this trade they wouldn't suffer in the short run and they'd be better off in the long run.
Pau would fit very nicely next to Horford who would move to the 4, Hill would be a strong back-up going forward and Meeks will fit right in. AND, they would still be able to sign a max deal this summer.

Because that may persuade Atlanta to do the deal.

Another point: The time to deal is now! The Lakers have played well without him of late and if we wait too long we risk having to go through another learning curve with whoever they get.

I think that's a bad deal for us. There's no need to go that far.

Pau and Meeks for Smith and Korver should be enough.

Pau playing center would be back to his 18 and 10, shooting .500 from the field. No matter what people say, he is not done! His problem is D'Antoni's system. He's not a jump-shooter. You take him back to the post and he'll do great! He'd be a great fit for Atlanta!
In Meeks they'd get their shooter with a much better contract than Korver.
