i dont think hes great ,man, i think hes the right fit. im very confident his effort and his athleticism wont lessen ;and thats what makes him so "great"

earl is just a break-out role player. no point in paying superstar bucks to a role player who you want to do the same things just as effectively. dont overpay role players,yall should know that by now.

just because Josh Smith is offensively challenged (like Dwight Howard) doesn't mean he's simply a role player. There are other things in basketball besides putting the ball in the basket.

I think its safe to say if we had Josh Smith with Dwight we would have the best interior defense in the league by far hands down.

Clark is good. Smith is proven. GM calm down dude no one here thinks clark sucks. Getting smith would drastically help this team much better than pau being here. Other trades out there aren't even close to this good of a trade.

If anything this would help clark. Clark is young so putting him in the postion of taking pau's role will be tough with little experience. Our defense would drastically get better and clark would flourish with less attention towards him from the opposing team(he will see more wide open mid range jumpers that he likes).

Yea your right he had GAMES. Josh Smith has put together SEASONS of playing strong defense. Dont compare a sample of a few games to a career's worth of work by Josh Smith .

He still has the skillset of a an allstar so why would he be a role player?

He would require much more offensive attention than Clark, plays better defense and can rebound better than him.

So explain how would he only be a role player on this team?
