We need a dirty/physical Pf.
Kenyon Martin is available, but Mitch will let the Knicks sign him for the vet's min.

http://www.foxsportssouthwest.com/01/10/13/Nowitzki-laughs-at-idea-of-being-traded-/msn_landing.html?blockID=847629&feedID=3577It's strange to imagine the season when Dirk Nowitzki no longer wears a Dallas Mavericks jersey, the only uniform he has donned during his 15 NBA seasons.
But what is even more bizarre is the possibility of seeing Nowitzki wearing another team's colors. It only seems right that the face of the Dallas franchise finishes his professional career with the team he led to its only league title.
A Wednesday column in the Los Angeles Daily News suggests otherwise.
According to the piece written by Vincent Bonsignore, Nowitzki was asked Wednesday about the possibility of joining his good friend Steve Nash as a member of the Los Angeles Lakers.
"I mean honestly, I'd never allow myself to even think about something like that," Nowitzki said, laughing.
When reminded how Nash said the same thing about playing for the Lakers last summer, Nowitzki responded: "It's funny how business works."
Bonsignore suggests a Nowitzki for Dwight Howard trade. Howard, who is a free agent at the end of the season, is someone the Mavericks are certainly interested in, however, probably not in exchange for Nowitzki.
With the Mavericks and Lakers both struggling, a move is possible, but adding a 34-year-old to an already aging Lakers squad doesn't seem to be the missing piece, especially on a team struggling to play adequate defense.
During a taped interview that aired during the Mavericks' 99-93 loss to the Los Angeles Clippers Wednesday night, Nowitzki told the ESPN cameras that he'd like to end his career in Dallas.
"Ultimately, my goal was always to finish my career in Dallas," Nowitzki said. "The only way I was going to leave was if we wouldn't have won a championship and I would have been chasing my last two years or whatever like (Gary) Payton and (Karl) Malone did when they went to the Lakers and joined Kobe and Shaq. Something like that, maybe I could have seen myself doing at the end. But since I got that ring now, I think I'm going to finish my career in Dallas.
"But I obviously do want to be competitive my last couple of years and I do want to play not for the 8 seed. Saying all that, I've got this year left and next year (left on my contract), so hopefully we can still make a push here this season and get something going this summer and be competitive again."

I do not think this deserved a whole new thread because it was just an interview question and Cuban will never help us out. Just wanna share this article.

Uhh, Mark Cuban would do that in a heartbeat. But, that certainly wouldn't be helping the Lakers out.

Rudy gay + tony allen for pau
They would never do that but that would be solid addition for LA for both sides of the ball.

Rudy Gay is bad. Grizz play better without him, don't let his stats fool you, he coasts through games.

He's not bad. He's definitely not a max player, but he's not bad by any stretch

paul george cant do this yet.
rudy is 50 times better than george at creating his own shot
"The West aint close, now that the LAL got Dwight, who gon stop him on OKC!????" - Chris Webber (nba tv -August)
Big 4s are OVERRATED. you think Nash/Kobe/Dwight cant carry the whole Offensive load!?

Your bad if you think the Lakers are anything like the Grizz! Grizz have 2 solid players at every position. Top heavy with quality players. This is how they can get by & win gms without Gay. Title contenders with Gay No! WIthout Gay = Hell No.

I'd take Paul George over Rudy Gay for a couple of reasons. 1. His Upside is tremendous, this guy has a chance to be a superstar. 2. He can play the 2 and 3 positions effectively. 3. probably the most important is his ability on the defensive end. He is already a better defender than Rudy Gay, and he has the potential to be elite defensively.
Rudy is already 2 steps further than George. If any1 will be a superstar first its Gay. Neither guy will be a superstar IMO but Gay already is a star player in NBA. we need real actual proven production = Gay has done it longer meaning more reliable

As it stands, Paul George is a 17/8/4 guy who plays defense. In his third season, first shot at leading his own team. That's already better than what Gay is doing this season, and even with everything pushed aside, there's a bigger reason why Memphis wants to trade Rudy...and it has nothing to do with money.
