Nonash really plays well with players who cut. ilyasova would be great for this team, he cuts and hits 3s, rebounds well. plus udrih would come over too, the 2nd unit sucks because no1 can create off the dribble. do it mitch

Gay doesn't play defense. He's actually a below-average defender who is lucky to have Marc Gasol standing behind him.
Dwight Howard would be standing behind him this time so I'm guessing that wouldn't change =p
If we somehow land Dwight Howard AND Nash (which is one of the biggest reaches I've posted, don't think that will happen), then yeah...I have no problem with it, because Howard won't allow anyone to take Nash off the dribble 30+ minutes a game.

David Stern [expletive]ed the Lakers organization big time with that veto.. We would've been so good right now.

Why are you so sure about that?

Dwight is also standing behind Steve Nash, Jodie Meeks and Antawn Jamison, who are horrific defenders. Marc Gasol doesn't have it that bad in Memphis, and he's 100%.Dwight Howard would be standing behind him this time so I'm guessing that wouldn't change =p

Chris Paul? One of the most competitive players in the NBA? Someone who can make a team better?
No Pau Gasol?

But if we're going by starting lineups
It would be
Nash
Gay
Kobe
Metta/Hill
Howard
Would probably be the lineup we see. So it wouldn't be like he'd be out there with Meeks and Jamison that often.

Howard would be out there more than he is right now, because we wouldn't have Gasol playing center anymore. But if we're going by starting lineups

We'd have to get a productive PF out of the deal as well, and I doubt that would happen for just Gasol, if we're landing Gay.

Yeah a productive PF AND Gay would be hard to come by.
The only thing I could think of was if we did a three way deal with Minnesota and we gave them Gasol and got Williams, and Memphis sent us Gay while taking Kirilenko from Minnesota. But I don't see that happening.
