Why would the Cavs take Pau anyways?

They are going for a Top 5 Pick, and are building a young team. The last thing they need is a player getting them over 10 wins like Pau.

They will get some young players and picks....not a vet.

I just don't see this happening.

idk why in the world the cavs want to trade arguably their best player. yes kyrie is great, but, verajoas production rivals kyries this year. kyrie is the future of the nba tho

1) Kevin Love and Minnesota (at least their GM) have a mutual hatred for one another

2) rick adelman has a hard-on for pau

that right there is more then what we knew about pau before he was sent over to LA (all we knew was that memphis hated him)

if someone can pull it off its mitch and this organization!!

i think this orginization is why that deal cant be done. love for pau is a steal, "NO MORE HANDOUTS TO THE LAKERS" im sure is the league motto

No, its Varejao to Atlanta while we get Josh Smith. Varejao is a borderline all star player who would let them play Horford at PF where he is so much better. Luke is a 6.1 mil expiring after this season...that is very attractive teams and we already saw ATL trying to shed salary in the offseason.

I doubt the Lakers get anything other than role players for Pau, which I would still take. While I don't think he's finished like some people here think so, this team has bigger needs.

I don't see why somebody would trade somebody younger who's actually playing like an all-star for somebody who hasn't played like an all-star. Maybe Pau's value is higher due to the lack of players who can play C, but I still don't see it.

If the Lakers don't do anything to really help themselves out defensively, it would be a huge mistake.

Sadly, you might be right. They didn't make the right change at coach, and they might make the wrong changes to the roster too.
