^ In Pau's practice report, he stated how the Grizz were playing good defense and preventing him from properly posting up,

They let him iso all night against Marc while overloading on the back screens to prevent him from getting it to the 4 which he idiotically passed in to on many scenarios where he could have posted up.

Nothing was preventing Pau from properly posting up as the Grizzlies were more than confident in Marc's ability to handle him in iso and were more intent on cutting off the second pass coming from Pau or the backdoor screens.

Pau's lost his confidence!

I don't know, but he'll be back to form once Kobe is there. Or at least I hope so...

I was reading Phil Jackson's new book , and he said that one the reasons why the Lakers were dominant in the 2009 season was because they were hungry. Pau has lost it. He is just going through the motions now. He lost that ambition in him and just doesn't want it anymore.

D'antoni refused to blame Gasol fully for his 2 points in the 2nd half of their 3 point loss but he did stress on a few things that need to improve all around with him as well as if it was fatigue coming off the sickness.

D'antoni: A little bit of us, a little bit of him trying to get his rhythm. A little bit is that we should go to him more, a little bit of that when we do go to him he's got to give us the confidence to go to him more. So it's a little bit of both.  We'll work through those issues.  But obviously he's GOT to be a guy that at the end of the game we've got to go to.  And he needs to(stops himself), and we need to be able to get him in good positions.  But it is a combo of team function and individual function.

We're not getting enough layups, and we have to work on that and have to work on our spacing. With our bigs we need a one to thrust down the middle, or either collapse the defense or get layups.

It's a direct message to Pau because both Kaman and Hill are doing that more efficiently than he has been.   But he was being nice about it here but... we know.

IMO Antoni has a weak personality that doesn't affect Gasol whatsoever

No personality effects Gasol.  Not even Kobe's anymore.   It's up to him at this point really.  He shouldn't need to be babied into it as smart as he is.

For clarification..Antoni is simply too passive aggressive in asserting his authority

This is not on D'antoni, it is squarely on Gasol, no more excuses

Attitudes like this towards players is why some teams never improve and aging teams find themselves dead because they are too scared to make moves for the future...Pau should have been gone last year and he is proving it this year

Pau should die a Laker.

IMO Pau is a 33 year old male that shouldn't have to have another grown man create motivation in him at this point.  He's a 2 time champ, if he can't find it in him and needs a coach he's not fit to be on a championship core anymore.

Nope. Pau should have been gone 3 years ago. We should be coming off back to back titles led by the trio of Kobe/Howard/Paul and looking to three peat this year. IMO of course.

Besides that, we can no longer even attempt to borderline bully him into being something he's not in light of the whole Richie Incognito/Jonathan Martin controversy. These sorts of tactics have now been put into the spotlight.

Why is this thread around still? Pau won't be traded this season. If anything most of the stuff here goes to the whiny complaining thread that already exists.

Because Pau Gasol is an abomination to all things basketball and by some sick twist...he's still with the Lakers.

I'm telling you, if any of you expect to ever see us bring home another championship, you better believe it won't be with Pau Gasoft nor Mike Craptoni.

I think he could get traded this season. There are plenty of desperate teams.

Played pretty well tonight. You gonna give him some credit or are you just gonna talk trash about him when he's playing bad.
