Then would we try and trade on of those guys for another piece? Both play the same position and we still have Metta. Unless we play Metta at the back up 4 behind let's say Earl Clark.

i'd amnesty ron

dwight/ hill

clark/ hill

gallinari/ chandler

kobe/ meeks

nash/ blake

That would be great, but I don't see the Nuggets making that trade unfortunately.

^ It's possible. I mean after seeing what they did by getting rid of a great coach, I think it's fair to question their decision-making.

This is not a Dwight vs Pau

It's a D'Antoni vs Pau and Dwight, neither of these players stand this fool.

I think it is possible that Pau is packaged with Hill or a S&T Clark to Portland for LA.

Why are guys so hell bent on getting LMA?  Plus no way Portland is trading LMA for Pau Gasol...you guys need to get off the sauce.

That'd be best case scenario

They might considering they would have that money go off the books next year. They're in rebuilding mode and getting Pau's contract should be an objective at this point. We might even be able to get Batum as well.

The Mavericks are engaging in trade talks involving Celtics point guard Rajon Rondo, sources tell DallasBasketball.com. Meanwhile, Dallas has taken a position on Chris Paul and is also investigating bids on point guards Tyreke Evans and Brandon Jennings.

Looks like they might trade Rondo. Kobe would love Rondo.

If they want a shot at Wiggins, I wouldn't be surprised to see Rondo moved.

Kupchak and Jim are aware of what Houston and Dallas are doing. There is no way in hell they are going to use billboards as their only recruiting tool. Something is going to happen.

Actually Portland isnt in rebuilding mode.  They are in stuck in limbo and would have had a good chance at the 7th or 8th seed had it not been for the worst bench in the league and injuries mid season.  Their starters were logging some serious minutes at one point.  They would stupid to trade LMA for Pau seeing is that they could get better value elsewhere for him.

Guys just need to realize not everyone values these players like the fanbase does.  The same reasons why LA wouldnt mind trading him are the same reason why other teams arent going to take him for something thats of serious value to them.

The best package I can see for Pau is a player that may be able to contribute with Dwight IF all he needs is a change of scenery.  Derrick Williams or Andrea Bargnani come to mind.

I heard if we Amnesty Metta, he would sign with the Nailclippers simply because he loves LA that much.

Sounds great to me. Last season the Clippers killed us with their 3-point shooting. I'm sure Artest could fix that for us.

Metta would probably get a diminished bench 4 role on the clippers..

Which he would excel at.   They already have 3 point shooters, they wouldn't need him to stretch the floor nor would Doc ask him to.

D'Antoni is clearly the biggest reason Dwight could be leaving. But, the Lakers keeping Pau for too long is number 2.

They should've looked to trade him for younger talent when he had more value. It's something they should still look to do, but I doubt he returns enough young talent anymore. I called it before last season began. They needed to deal him as soon as they traded for Dwight Howard.

Steve Nash is number 3. They should've used those draft picks to go after young talent instead of trading for a 38(at the time) year old PG.

The promise of 2014 cap space is nice, but it's no guarantee. I doubt Dwight feels good about tying his future to that alone.

Pelicans want to add a big name to their roster.
They also want to trade Austin Rivers.

Source: nba.com

"Pelicans’ Rivers attainable now?

As our main man David Aldridge reported last night, the New Orleans Pelicans are looking to make a splash in the free-agent market and have offered up a $44 million contract to Kings guard (and restricted free agent) Tyreke Evans. Provided the Kings let Evans go (which, according to USA Today’s Sam Amick, is something Sacramento’s brass may not be ready to do), the Pelicans would boast a guard corps of All-Star Jrue Holiday, rising guard Greivis Vasquez and Evans, among others. That may leave last year’s No. 10 pick, Austin Rivers, as the odd man out."

Pau for Anderson+Rivers?
