Think it's safe to say Mitch is coming back.

Pretty good chance, but you never know if Jimmy will re-sign him, he might do a Jerry Jones thing

If Kupchak doesn't return, it is truly the beginning of the end...

Kupchak has been here ever since like 2002 I think as GM, and even longer as assistant GM. He is the one guy Jimmy trusts. He is not going anywhere.

^ Probably not too hard to trust a guy if you can slowly build him into your own puppet.

Brandon Jennings, he was god-awful vs the Heat. I'm sure we can get him for Pau now. It would be nice if our PG could play for the whole season instead of being in a suit for most of it. +He is from Compton.  :chuckle:

How about the Bulls? Derrick Rose have earlier stated, that he'd love to play with Pau.

What they could do is this: Pau Gasol for Luol Deng and Kirk Hinrich. Simple.

Why? The Bulls would be able to use amnesty on Boozer and replace him with Gasol. They already have a good player in Jimmy Butler, who would fit nicely into Deng's role and once Rose comes back, there will be fewer minutes for Hinrich. After this, the Bulls could waive Rip Hamilton and get their salaries down around the cap. Next season, Pau come off the books.

For the Lakers, we get two very solid perimeter defenders in Hinrich and Deng, who both can hit 3s and we save a bit of money. Deng would really complement Kobe and Dwight and would be able to hold the fort until Kobe gets back from injury. Hinrich is old-ish, but servicable and can play both the 1 and 2.

Finally, we'd be one of the teams that would bid on Boozer, who is one of Dwights close friends.

I think he might stay if Dwight leaves. The Lakers would then be free to have him at C. But, he might as well go anyway since the Lakers wouldn't do anything without Dwight.

I get the feeling some people have forgotten how awful he was for most of the season. I'm looking at the topics about grading the Lakers, and most have given him a B. In a lot of the topics about what the Lakers should do heading forward, a lot want to keep him. He might be the worst player in his position on defense. He constantly misses defensive rotations, and can't defend players at his position. Getting his own offense has been tougher than it ever has at any point in his career. His FG% hit a career low, and it dipped again when Kobe went out. Some of his troubles can be blamed on D'Antoni, but I believe a lot of his problems are of his own doing. He had a nice stretch at the end of the regular season, but his inability to get his own offense during the postseason when it mattered the most just reminded me of the same Pau that struggled the 2 postseasons beforehand. I think his good stretch to end the regular season was a flash in the pan.

He's not somebody you want heading forward. He's been awful to end the year for 3 straight postseasons, and was awful for most of this season. I've seen enough.

Exactly Windu he'll get over it. Let's just remember he actually got to play 2 more seasons with Pau then he really should have. He should be glad for that. Had Stern not vetoed that trade im sure having CP3 on his team would make up for the loss of Pau. If anything the Lakers holding onto Pau since then has hindered Kobes chances to win another ring. The FO turned down some trades that could of improved our team overall. While it looks likely that Pau is going to be traded from his interview the bigger concern I have is it possibly signals the return of DAntoni. Im hoping Dwight can pressure the FO into relieving DAntoni of his job, but if he can't I'm not looking forward to next season. If they choose him over Dwight were better off blowing it up. I hope the FO make the right decisions because our future may look so great otherwise.

If we can swing him to Utah for Millsap + Caroll/Burks + 2nd rounder I would be ecstatic

Also, Favors must want an opportunity to start as well. He's only 21 and averaged 9&7 in 23 mpg. So maybe Favors+Hayward for Pau?

Jazz would never do that
