we'll get outrebounded(see above) , and the Celtics would be DAMN good with Gasol, damn good. theyd be big, with scoring threats on the wing, too.pierce and terry can reallllly score,PLUS Hondo(lol) ,PLUS all that size , rondo playing with 4 shooters...

I think you're putting too much emphasis on getting outrebounded because of size. When the Lakers were getting worked on the glass it was because of poor perimeter defense; penetration caused our interior defenders to help out on one another's man, causing the free man to crash the boards without a body on him. Or at least that's what I saw a lot of. I could be wrong.

You think the 76er's want another big man from us? I mean we all see how well that worked out for them so far ahaha

Who knows, man. With Gasol they could do a sign-and-trade with Bynum...

i agree, but it seems like the FO does like a size advantage(judging their reluctancy to trade Pau).

also, what if our perimeter defense doesnt improve?

Yep!
Regarding the Celts, if we did a Green-Bosa-Lee for Gasol deal i dont think rebounding would be that big of a problem. We would need to keep Hill as the back-up C or trade him, in which case we could get a guy who can rebound.

This deal would probably never happen but.

Lakers Get: Josh Smith, Dorell Wright
Philly Gets: J.J. Barea
Minny Gets: Gasol
Atlanta Gets: Pekovic and Derrick Williams.

Tonight we see some of the good and bad of Pau.
The Nash-Pau pick and roll followed by a deep Gasol pass to Howard from the high post looks awesome.
Unfortunately, we also see Pau get muscled under the basket by...everyone.

All I see in him are his passing skills. Nothing else. No defense, too passive, and soft.

I would think after having dinner with Mike would make Pau like his old pau.. but he played crap. he needs to score first mentality. its good that hes passing to howard in the paint, but when u have a open shot. TAKE it. and play with urgency

He had 6 nice assists but was incredibly soft. It was pretty bad especially in the first half.

Hawes and Mullens are both primary centers mainly because neither can defend the four...at all. Both are awful on the defensive end.

Hawes actually plays nearly every minute on the court as a center. Mullens should be, but the Bobcats don't have a legitimate PF, so they feel that starting two seven-footers helps ease the pain...when, in reality, it makes them the worst defensive team in the NBA.

----------

As far as Ilyasova goes...why? He's following his ONE good season up with a bad one. He's shooting under 40% from the floor as a 6-9 forward. He's only hitting 33% from three, not that great from the charity stripe, doesn't pass the ball, bad defender, and really has no reason why he should be playing over Jamison or Hill, honestly.

Nick Young is inefficient, selfish, doesn't play defense, doesn't have control over his own game, and...well, he basically just shoots jumpers (91% of his shot attempts are jumpers).

I'd rather keep Gasol than to trade him for ANY TWO of those six guys.

I think a deal involving either of the Morris brothers (Markieff and Marcus) would be nice.
Both rebound well, defend and can shoot 3s.

Hawes is probly just a 5,just love how he's expanded his game to 3s.
Mullens is much more agile than Pau, so i dont think he can defend the 4 worse.
and Ilyasova is 6'10 , and he can shoot the 3 ,and he rebounds well(9rpg in 27mpg last year), hes like the perfect mix between Antawn and Hill.thats why he would play over them.

the CHA and MIL trades would make both units more potent on O(1st unit needs a stretch 4,2nd unit needs some O off the dribble),,, and we'd keep at least some good size in both. i can see our FO taking those deals.
