Every time I've glanced at the title of this thread, I keep reading it as "Gasol to be traded." Even just now..

One member says: It doesn't solve our problems

You reply: I don't care

Sound illogical and dumb to me.

Every team are going to have problems, we're not going to fix all of our problems but damn sure going to fix some of it, so it doesn't matter. U said I hated Pau which I clearly stated I don't at all, I actually like Pau. I don't see where are we getting worse if we trade Pau for Josh Smith not on defense, not on offense, not with money, not in the future or present, not with age, not with transition O and D, it's going to fix some of our flaws. Simple

Let's be real here. Pau hasn't played good since Game 7 of the 10 Finals

He averaged a double double last year and has been the second best player on the court the past 3 games and has thrived in the Princeton offense.... Gasol will never be as dominate as he was but he's still better than majority PF in the league

I had a dream that Josh Smith was playing in Lakers uniform, and that every time he takes a jumper everyone would gasp

I don't think he's been dominant since then.

But, he was 2nd All-Team NBA in 2010-2011 and I think performed ok last season. His numbers were down across the board and needed to be a lot more aggressive. But, you have to attribute some of that to his change in role as well.

I can't defend his postseason performances though. His only good game during the last 2 postseasons was game 7 against Denver last season.

This thread is made by Trolls!

Pau is one of the best big men in the league and he is vital to the Laker organisation. He is our insurance policy, if Dwight goes down or worse, doesn't sign a long-term deal.

Also, like Phil Jackson said, he is vital to our new offense.

We need the Pau that has been dominate when we first got him. Sure he's been our 2nd best player last two seasons, but that isn't saying much

Don't be so ungrateful for a player that helped contribute to 3 finals appearances and 2 championships

But not too many players are better!! and unless we are getting a ton of draft picks, young players + an All star in return we might as well keep him... and he fits best for the Princeton offense he compliments Dwight better than any other PF in the league

who would you get that could replace Pau's rebounding, offense, and passing?

Since when does gratefulness factor into trade discussion? That is only reserved for franchise players who have contributed to a team for much of their career (like Kobe, Duncan, Dirk, etc.) Fisher made big shots for us on the way to 5 championships, should we have kept him out of gratefulness as well? He was great for us from '08-10 but he's been a shell of himself since then. That was more than 2 years ago. Being grateful to a player doesn't override their actual play on the floor, especially not when they are collecting a $20M check in the meantime.

He is our only tradeable asset at this point. If he can net us two solid players that push us closer to a championship, I wouldn't hesitate to pull the trigger. He's done too little in the postseason the last two years to give me any 2nd thoughts about it.

but there aren't many players that give us what Gasol gives us and what player would you replace Gasol with that could fit into the Princeton offense and compliment Dwight's game so much? Some members act like he hasn't done anything he averages a double double and had over 40 double doubles the past 2 seasons

The only thing I hate about Pau is his defense... it can be very good at times but most of the time i'ts downright AWFUL but if we can somehow motivate him to play consistent defense and teach him how to play the Pick N Roll properly then we could see a big difference

Loyalty is for fans.

If it makes sense to trade Kobe, the Lakers should do that too.
