Rivers sucks dude...

Anderson is WAY overpaid...

Pelicans want to add a big name to their roster.
They also want to trade Austin Rivers.

Source: nba.com

"Pelicans’ Rivers attainable now?

As our main man David Aldridge reported last night, the New Orleans Pelicans are looking to make a splash in the free-agent market and have offered up a $44 million contract to Kings guard (and restricted free agent) Tyreke Evans. Provided the Kings let Evans go (which, according to USA Today’s Sam Amick, is something Sacramento’s brass may not be ready to do), the Pelicans would boast a guard corps of All-Star Jrue Holiday, rising guard Greivis Vasquez and Evans, among others. That may leave last year’s No. 10 pick, Austin Rivers, as the odd man out."

Pau for Anderson+Rivers?

seriously...

Rivers is one of the worst shooters in a LONG time...

what makes him especially bad, is that he thinks he is as good as Kobe...

Rivers is not good...

maybe he gets better, but, man... Shooting Guards who cannot shot, and can do nothing else, and are small, don't ussally turn out well

I think the Pelicans could be an interesting trade partner. With the addition of Jrue Holiday i think they could be trying to make a push in a season or two and i'm not sure how Anderson fits next to Davis.

If we're sticking to a more MDA offense i think Pau for Luol Deng is a no-brainer.

Keeping pau is going to kill the lakers in taxes. Even the lakers wont be able to afford the taxes in a few years when were eventually paying 2 dollars for every dollar we are over the luxury.

BTW if we keep pau we will be spending a $1.50 for every dollar we go over the luxury line in the 2014 season. Thats gonna put a big damper in the FA signing. But hey if the lakers want to lose nearly 30 mil for nothing when it could be easily avoided by all means go for it.

Just bad business.

In would rather keep him this season, play him as C, hopefully his value goes up, and we can swing
him for K. Love at the end so they get an expiring contract and can try to make a splash in the FA market since Love wants out apparently.

Pau for love will never happen. Love is a young amazing talent. Pau is an old mess that cant get his FG% over 45%. His expiring contract isnt that appealing to minny.

An old mess?

He hasn't had a rest in 4 or 5 years now. This is the first off-season, he's taking off, relaxing.

Sorry... I'll lay off sending flowers for the funeral. Old? :smh:

Any idea how old David West is?

Portland and Minny actually made some movies this off-season to make them competitive this upcoming season, no way they would part with their cornerstones. At least until the point the repsective players demand trades.

He also has two bum knees. We won't get much for him.

Because we used the mini-MLE on Kaman and he might start? (Just curious.)

@KamBrothers: Per @ramonashelburne, Kaman's getting the full MLE. Unless Pau is getting shopped, this feels like a very strange decision. AK"

Who knows.

I doubt Kaman starts.

Interesting tidbit from the ESPN LA article:

Sources told ESPN.com that the Lakers pressed hard to complete a deal with Kaman over the weekend to ensure they have a quality starting center in the wake of Dwight Howard's departure without impacting their projected 2014 salary-cap space.

Guess I was wrong, Kaman as the starting center apparently

Sounds like just speculation by the K bros. Trading Pau at this point doesn't make sense. The Lakers are clearly going all in for 2014, so to trade his expiring wouldn't make sense financially unless they were getting quality players on rookie contracts back.

Thoughts bounced around by Laker bloggers on Twitter..this could mean a Pau trade is coming to fill out the SG/SF rotation . We're ok in the PF/C depth we didnt need to spend so much to shore up that department

If West Coast believes it, then it's certainly possible. West Coast is LN's own version of Woj.
