Would you guys trade Pau for Lamar Odom straight-up? Lamar, despite lower perceived value in that trade, is tailor-made to be a stretch-4 in D'Antoni's system.

Whaaaaat?

Trade for Austin Rivers, say, Hill & Johnson.

Three things....

1. No.

2. You can't trade them straight up, even if you wanted to based off $.

3. Who told you that Lamar Odom is a stretch four? If it was a friend of yours, punch them straight in the face the next time you see him/her.

Jordan Hill 18 minutes (in exactly half of Pau's playing time) 5-8 FGs, 10 points, 8 rebounds.

Watch him play amazing on Friday night and dismantle the Clippers. He'll then follow it up with 2-3 half-assed games before putting in another good showing. Up and down roller coaster ride. I'm sick of it.

No more stretch PF's. We need to get someone who can defend and finish at the rim. We need to stop building an offense that is centered around Nash, and just put production out on the floor because Nash isn't going to get it done.

It's getting tiring, repeating it over and over again...this team cannot run through Steve Nash. It is obvious. Maybe when he was the Nash of 2004, and we were all 4-5 years younger, but not today, because he cannot force these guys up and down the court.

This will continue to be a problem, and as long as we struggle on offense (and rely on Kobe to do it all for us), our defense will suffer.

How anyone didn't expect this is beyond me. We were actually better off in the Princeton, because AT LEAST the offense was able to bend for our older players...and those who said the Princeton wouldn't work in the NBA are ignorant to the Sacramento Kings team that nearly beat us and prevented the three-peat.

Keep supporting it, though.

How far does any team that relies on a PF being a long range shooter go?

Not very far.

Why would the Hawks do that deal? Why would they help the struggling Lakers. Like it or not, the other teams in the NBA love this. This is their dream come true. Change the coaching system, the way this team runs and plays and the personnel will be just fine.

The problem is that Nash doesnt want Pau gone

Josh Smith would be great, but I seriously doubt Atlanta is dumb enough to take anyone not named Kobe or Dwight, and we'd be dumb to make that trade.

As far as what Nash wants, that's really too bad. They are both reluctant scorers...one a big man fully capable of getting into the post and shooting a higher percentage, the other a PG that could shoot 50/40/90 this season AND average at least 15-20 a night...but neither are doing that, and neither are playing any kind of defense.

So, because of that, both can stand behind Kobe, not in front of him. At the end of the day, this offense, this franchise...it's built around Kobe Bryant. The defense can be centered around Dwight and Kobe. Everyone else falls into place. If we have to slow the game down, and dump the ball into Dwight, to give Kobe rest, that's what needs to happen. That doesn't mean we run Darius Morris at the two-guard position, and think that we can work an offense that completely ignores the P&R.

How much P&R did we even see tonight? Hardly any.

Until we start playing that way, we're going to continue to struggle as a 6-8th seeded team.

The [expletive] rotations need to go, the multiple fives need to cease, the quick offense has to stop, this idea that Ron Artest is our second option needs to be trashed, and this strategy to let Gasol shoot threes and Howard be ignored down low is going to CRIPPLE us by April.

As long as we're running Kobe Desperation ISO and Nash offense all game long, we are done. Kobe's teammates, and Mike D'Antoni, need to step up and change.

God, when Pau stands out for the threes...nobody even guards him. It's like they don't care and they just put another man in the paint to guard Dwight. This is a very big problem.

We should start Metta at the 4.
