I just don't think Disney and Star Wars is going to struggle to reach people with what could be the most highly anticipated film in quite a long while, no matter what film its attached to.

Depends. Star Wars is largely in the past. The name is still strong but the belief of the prequels failure is equally as strong. Coming off bad press is when you have to be most aggressive

Now having said that the most anticipated films are gonna be avengers 2 and batman v superman. Culturally superhero films have largely taken the place of sci fi

Not saying star wArs needs hunger games but you're trying to reach a new audience with the sequels. Of course the old audience will be there, as will the prequel audience but as a company it would help to shoot your first bullet in front of hunger games which will likely be the biggest movie of the year

In the end Star Wars with 3D and imax will likely make a billion though so in that sense you're right. I still think it'd be great marketing strategy to use hunger games

If Star Wars wants to make the 200 million opening weekend avengers 2 is heading for it needs to have an awesome marketing campaign

Things change daily with this.

The hype around the trailer's release is enough to show you just how enormous this movie is gonna be.

Hunger games is irrelevant. Having the teaser in front of the hobby will prob increase sales for the hobbit.

Stars is a giant in sci fi and film lore. Star Wars is going to dwarf te hunger games. The prequel badness doesn't really matter. More Star Wars is just pure awesomeness
