I think Dave Miller said it best.
You can't talk about them not used to each other, the Mavs had pretty much a whole new team and the 2 key players missing and we still lost.

They look lethargic, and the can't find easy baskets.

Was in a very angry mood, but Windu cheered my up a little for e-mailing TNT regarding those LeBron James 4 hour commercials. Right after tip-off, we did not start strong. We came in completely unmotivated and unprepared. I do not care if it the first game. There is no excuse for this team not hustling and playing without energy. On offense, no one knew what the hell to do. I am not going to panic yet, but people need to move , set screens, and get open. We need to initiate the offense earlier in the shot clock. Jamison and Meeks need more playing time in my opinion. We were late on our defensive switches and rotations, and just couldn't execute. I feel that the star players (Pau, Kobe, Nash, and Dwight) are trying to do too little and trying to be unselfish. They are not playing their style of game. Miami had this problem last year with Wade and LeBron. We will grow together and learn as the season progresses. I do not know much about the Princeton, so I won't same much. All I know is that it needs work. I want to see more pick n roll though with Nash.

Our "terrible offense" got us a LOT of free throws we didn't take advantage of.

Exactly. Our offense was fine. We shot nearly 50%. We got 31 FT's . And again I will say it. 70% FT would have won us this game. Yes the defense was bad which if we had done better would have made up for the FT's but when your team didnt have a good defensive night(Dwight was getting called a lot BTW) and FT% is at 39% you have no chance. Out rebounding was fine, out FG% was fine. 14 TO's which is that bad either.

You guys need to seriously calm down. So much negativity in here. It's only one game. We'll be okay. So what we didn't win any 'preseason games' and lost to a team without Dirk and 9 new players, but it takes time alright. Mike Brown will figure it out quickly and we will be awesome. Stop worrying.
