This would be amazing for this teamWith the way the Clips, San Antonio and OKC are playing I dont think they're slowing down unless they suffer major injuries. Realistically I think we should shoot for the 4th seed. We're 5 games out of that spot that Memphis currently holds, I think Memphis will start slipping they've played only 11 road games the fewest in the NBA. Then I hope we draw the Clippers in the 2nd round (so that means Flop City has to be 1 seed), this way even though we're the "Road" team the games will be played in our building, no travel = good for this team then go face OKC or SAS in WCF. Im down for that

Also 36-17 doesnt seem impossible if we could rest Pau, Nash and Kobe here and there we can afford to.

Being an optimist consider this:
We have only had a full team playing the D'Antoni system for 3 games. In those 3 games we've beaten the Warriors who are playing very well as well as the Knicks who are playing extremely well. Our loss was against Denver on the road on the second of back-to-back. That is acceptable considering we only have played 3 games with a full roster in this system.

It's funny I was about to post something similar to this just now. Good post. I was gonna say 40-13 is where needs to be to get the 4th seed or even the 3rd seed.I think 50 wins can get you a 4 seed in the West, I dont see Denver, Golden State, Utah and Houston getting there. We need to go 36-17 to get to 50 wins. And hopefully Clippers get the 1st seed. No travel in 2nd round would be ideal for a team like this. But we need to beat these guys a couple of times when we face them, get some confidence going.
Also 36-17 doesnt seem impossible if we could rest Pau, Nash and Kobe here and there we can afford to.

We wont get a 4th seed. At this point we should be happy if we could land in the 5-6 area.
why not? we won 5 of the last 6 played and we lost last night on a 2nd game of a back to back in Denver where teams rarely win anyways.
Our situation is not panic worthy but 4th seed is attainable

But ultimately, a true contender doesn't worry about who they play or where they play. If this team can seriously contend for a 17th championship then they shouldn't care what the situation is.

I think the 4 seed is ultimately where we end up. I would love to see us crack the top 3, but I just think that the Clippers, Thunder, and Spurs won't let off the gas enough for us to catch them. This is how I picture the final seeding looking: 1. Thunder 2. Clippers 3. Spurs 4. Lakers. 5. Memphis 6. Denver 7. Golden State 8. Minnesota
But ultimately, a true contender doesn't worry about who they play or where they play. If this team can seriously contend for a 17th championship then they shouldn't care what the situation is.
This sure is an optimism thread. Memphis would have to lose 8 more games than us the rest of the season, which soon is down to 50 games.

Which may not be too much to ask for. We have two more games against Memphis, and Memphis has a lot of road games the remainder of the season. If we can hit a streak anything is possible. This sure is an optimism thread. Memphis would have to lose 8 more games than us the rest of the season, which soon is down to 50 games.
