When one player plays begins to play well, others don't. Kobe, who has been great all season, played bad ball just as Pau begins to play well. It's the opposite of what you to see. Instead of players taking turns lifting the team, it's players taking turns dragging down the team.

It's frustrating really to watch.

Not to mention this team seems to be regressing even further on defense. Quick players generally blow past Metta these days, but man do they miss him. Others are even worse on defense.

I really want to see Clark play more and Morris play. Even if they aren't great defenders, they at least have a chance of defending people. The Lakers are just getting beat down athletically right now.

another loss by not taking care of the ball and little evidence of defense?

It's been obvious all season. Lakers have no passion, effort, intensity, or competitiveness. Plus they can't play defense, especially perimeter wise. We need speed! Nash and Blake are slow as f#@$k. That's why they keep getting blown by all the other guards in the league, easily breaking down the defense, forcing Dwight to help and leave his man open for an easy basket. Bench is atrocious, pure garbage. Playoffs is no longer the goal, just finish the regular season healthy for next season.

Missing the playoffs is now the goal in order to avoid a huge embarrassment in the 1st round.

Arguably the greatest franchise ever

You know, I think the reason why the Lakers' record when Kobe, Dwight, Pau, and Nash play isn't very good is that I think our team can't overcome having nothing on the defensive end from Nash or Gasol. Kobe and Metta aren't who they were on defense anymore, and I think it's unfair to expect them to overcome their defense. They have a hard time just covering their own guys.

I think Nash is part of the problem, even with his efficient offense. When both he and Gasol are gone, I've seen signs of the Lakers playing ok defense.

I'm gonna be so pissed if this team doesn't make the playoffs. A team with Kobe Bryant and Dwight freaking Howard CAN'T miss the playoffs. Totally unacceptable. Stumbling in at the 8th seed would be embarrassing enough, missing the playoffs means they better clean house somehow in the offseason. Kobe, Dwight, Clark, and Hill can stay, that's it. Everyone else is expendable. Even Clark and Hill are expendable, but at least they go 100%, they're young, play defense, rebound, etc.

Get yo [expletive] together Lakers.

The Lakers are slow to make adjustments. When you see them getting lit up, it usually lasts for the entire quarter or half.

Good teams put the game away in those stretches when the Lakers don't play defense. They build bigger leads and are harder to cut the lead and eventually come back against. That's what will happen if the Lakers continue to do it since the Lakers' last 3 games are against good teams. What they did in Portland won't work in LA's last 3 games.

You have a small amount of success and people start thinking everything is ok. It's utterly ridiculous.

This team still needs to completely overhaul the roster and get a new coach to compete. I don't want to hear the injury excuse. Good teams know how to play despite injuries, ask San Antonio and Chicago.

I think they start with D'Antoni next season, so the Lakers are probably doomed already. But, the Lakers can at least change up the roster.
