No firm decisions made yet but Lakers, I'm told, ARE weighing pros and cons of creating roster spot to sign Delonte West to ease PG crisis
Sense I get is that D-West, widely regarded as top available PG, is at the top of Lakers' list ... but word is they'll indeed look around

One issue, of course, is Lakers have full 15-man roster. Among reasons they didn't sign D-Fish before Mavs: L.A. wanted to move one PG first

Take this statement, and retract it, since NOW he'll be thrown into the starting role. Give him starter minutes, and when he goes to the bench once Nash returns, he'll actually have a larger bench role than I thought he would (because our bench turned out to be pretty bad), so he'll work.I like Delonte as a player, was very underrated back in Cleveland...but I don't think he could handle a backup PG role in an offense that will limit him greatly. He would be asked to play defense and hit open shots, but he wouldn't see as much time here as he would have back in Dallas, and while I'm fine with thinking he could make it here if given an opportunity, I would feel much better if the coach was Phil Jackson.
Without Steve Blake around, and Delonte having an opportunity to beat him out before Blake even gets a chance to play again (once Nash returns), this is now the perfect time to sign West. It's both out of desperation AND a smart move on our part, to get a temporary starter and someone who will make up for what we don't have in our second unit.
If it was still the Princeton, that would be different...but now, we're running, and he's needed. Get West.

and i think Morris might have been playing so bad that we might bite the $bullet and cut him
also, tonight was bad for our PGs ,real bad, horrible stats, and duhon lost us another game recently with a late turnover,,,AND nash said 2 more weeks, all signs are pointing to delonte. please god. we might not even have to trade pau if we get delonte, pau and delonte can hopefully lead a decent 2nd unit
"The West aint close, now that the LAL got Dwight, who gon stop him on OKC!????" - Chris Webber (nba tv -August)
Big 4s are OVERRATED. you think Nash/Kobe/Dwight cant carry the whole Offensive load!?
(Peace Pau we need pieces, not MettaWorldPieces!!!!!!!!)
