You know that this was as much Mitch's decision as well and contracts had a lot to do with it. They'll be keeping tabs on him with the D-Fenders.

brown also made a comment on him not being in the right spot.

More than likely that has something to do with them

A) Signing Jodie Meeks

and

B) Resigning Ebanks

As well as

C) Not being able to get rid of Duhon

and

D) Jordan Hill being injured thus making Sacre a necessity


CDR had everything against him in this scenario in terms of contracts and situations.

Not to mention that potato head is a adamant at having Jamison at the 3.

That's going to happen if Pau or Howard is with the second unit and Hill slides over at PF.

Mike Brown already said he had 2 bench lineups he wanted to run, one with which Jamison would be the 4 and one where Jamison would be the 3. Which he was intending to run with Hill playing the 4/5 position depending. Hill went down in the first game of the pre-season.

Because of this he had to run bench lineups, and the bench struggled so greatly he came to the conclusion he'll have to run more starters with the bench which clodded things up while also making Sacre's role more important to the team.

Well Hill got injured the first pre-season game so he had to run different lineups. We have yet to really see the bench lineup in cohesiveness in full strength and Sacre wouldn't even be being considered for any kind of 14th player contract.

But because Hill, Howard(at the time) and Clark were down, Sacre is the only other guy left, so he gets his 14th spot on principle alone. The Lakers aren't signing the 14th spot on talent and who is better for the job they are basing it on a need because every other 'size' option or rebounder(aside from Dwight right now) is out of commission and they needed him as a backup plan.

Jordan Hill and Earl Clark WERE the backup plans initially. But both are currently out. That's the ONLY reason Sacre makes this team.

Yes but because of the position and injury worry makes it necessary to have a backup plan for instance if Hill has a setback or things start to flare up they needed a backup plan which WAS Earl Clark, however he is now out indefinitely.

So everyone and their backup plans are out or in question

Howard backup plan Jordan Hill(back soon but in question) backup plan Earl Clark(out indefinitely with strained groin) backup plan Robert Sacre...

Nice job cutting a player that had already proven he could log 20-25 contributing minutes a night.

CDR is actually a better player than Ebanks, and better than any other rookie or sophomore we have.

Oh well.

Literally took the words right out my mouth. I just don't understand it. CDR's talent on the offensive end far surpasses anyone else on the bench outside of Jamison. And is clearly better than any of the other wing players. And its not like he's a horrible defender. Seriously, wtf gives?

I hope they decide on a 14 man roster and just cut Glock and DJO now.

i know, id hate to see them keep glock over cdr though it seems like they are gonna stick to 14 and possibly leave room for later. but who knows , maybe they keep glock just for his floor spacing ability even though his size and limitations hinder what they can do with him.

i figured they might waive cdr last if they did but his lack of playing time wasnt looking too great even though he is more proven than some. seems like djo has had even less so that doesnt bode well for him. cdr could also have been a decent future trade piece but oh well, im sure they had their reasons. hopefully those reasons came down to a little more than money

Probably take Goudelock over DJO. Drew is actually capable of playing the two-guard position...not sure if DJO can do that. Plus, I'll take Goudelock shooting threes over DJO, even though Johnson-Odom has the range.

yeah probably, glock has his limitations on when they can use him but djo is probably even worse off unfortunately without pg skills(well maybe not worse off not by much, either way they probably get burned at the 2 defensively with glock at the 2 or blake guarding the 2/djo the 1 ). but djo really hasnt had a chance and has less experience so it doesnt look great. gotta like the energy he brings though.

though somewhat relieved, id bet glock is still on pins and needles if they waived a player like cdr, seems like they might just go with 14. hmm keep space and some money or keep some more long range insurance.

and once again Sacre is a lock for the 14th spot which I mentioned why above, that's the unfortunate thing. If Hill and Clark weren't injured we wouldn't be talking about Sacre making the team. But sadly they are, so Sacre gets in on principle more so.


DJO is a better defender than Goudelock imo. Goudelock is the better 3 point shooter, DJO is better athletically. Both their handles are suspect, DJO is a better finisher when he makes a cut and could benefit from the Princeton that way, but Goudelock would benefit from the Princeton as a floor spacer. So hopefully both get a shot next game to see what they can do.
