I have the Lakers going 62-20. Tied for first in the West with Oklahoma City. I have us winning the championship of course. I just think when you look at this basketball team you have so much talent. Sure our depth isn't the greatest, but we have one of the top starting lineups in recent memory. Four future hall of famers in Nash, Kobe, Pau and Dwight. Three of those guys will no doubt be first ballot hall of famers and who are also still playing at a high level.
When you have that much star power do you really need great depth to win a championship? I don't think so and considering the way these guys fit together. Nash makes Kobe's life much easier since he can now play off the ball more and of course Nash now gets to play with arguably the two best pick and roll players in Dwight and Pau.
Another thing is all these guys love each other like brothers. Unlike the 2004 team. With that team no one early liked each other. Not the case with this team. I just really feel that barring injury this is our year. It will not be easy obviously, but I think our Lakers will be hoisting championship #17 by season's end.
