He wants more money (he is already overpaid), more touches, and a locker room cancer...

I'd rather have battier!
I agree.
He doesn't have a big ego, he doesn't have a big pay check, but he has a BIG HEART! That's what we need at the moment. A player with a heart bigger than his ego. Battier won't demand much of the ball. All he will do is play defense, take care of the ball and hit three's. That's all we need in our SF. Someone who does the dirty work.

As much as I hate Odom's inconsistency, I'd rather have him that Marion simply because he'd be willing to take a pay cut while Marion wouldn't. If we could trade for Josh Smith however, that's a completely different story (JS= a LOT of potential, better D, aggressiveness, JS >Odom)

He has better range than Odom, strange since he has such an ugly jump shot, and is a better defender, not actually that bad at rebounding either.
The big question is his ego, can he put that aside to win a championship?
I don't mind keeping Odom and giving him a chance because on his best day he is probably a better player than Marion, just not as consistent. It depends if u are looking for versatility of defense.

If we could make Miami take Luke with the deal then I'd do it, Marion would be ok for a year at the 3, he expires next year anyway and then we could use him as a sign and trade or something if he wants to roll.

You'll find that most players with big ego's won't put it away for a Championship untill the very end of their career. Marion will have Kobe, Gasol and Bynum ahead of him. He won't settle for being a 4th option, not no way, not no how.

Co-sign. There's no way Marion'll put his ego away for a championship. He won't take a paycut either.

I'd agree to that.....only if we can get Battier without giving up LO. Now that Houston got Ron, there's no way in hell that I'd even consider trading LO to them.

i agree .... how would we know if he would have a big ego if he was here? imo, i think the only reason he had a big ego in Phoenix is cuz he didnt get along wth Amare on a personal level and wanted to get traded because the franchise picked amare before him when he gave them his all for so many years .... we dont know his true personality, none of us do, but what we do know is that his man defense, his 3 point shot, and his steals/shotblocking are lightyears better than odoms, theyre rebounding skills are similiar (odom has a slight edge), as for offensive decision making, id give it to marion (due to the fact that odom does not have a right hand and gives up way too many charges when he attacks), marion doesnt need plays run for him to be effective, yes odom abused him in a series against phoenix, did that change anything, we lost both times so that didnt really mean anything, would he play against him during the season if we traded for him, i doubt it, odom would be playing pau and beasly would be playing marion .... i would try odom at the 3 and see how he does until the trade deadline, if odom isnt hitting his shots and playing weak man D, i would trade for marion in hoping he would take a paycut (plus from what ive read previously that he gets along with kobe)
if you guys want i can post stats but im not a stat guy .... ill leave that to L4L
