Kobe Bryant will not play tonight due to a right shoulder strain. He's listed as day to day.

How is it that this guy gets hurt every pre-season lol

Mark Medina ‏@MarkGMedina
Lakers spokesman said Bryant injured his shoulder during Tuesday's practice, but it didn't start bothering him until later in the evening

He's hurt every season, he's only sitting out cause it's pre-season and there's no reason to try. Cause we all know what he's capable of.

This means that Meeks Ebanks and CDR get quality minutes today.

That's cause Mike Brown(as he said) wanted to see how the 3rd and 4th stringers would react while getting their butts kicked to see how they'd react.

CDR and Meeks obviously answered the bell ;) and Mike was impressed by them(said CDR turned his head)

There's a method to the madness. I expect to see Meeks more tonight.

That pretty much means that Meeks' place is established and he's giving the other players a chance to show if they can unseat Meeks. Apparently that hasn't happened.

People forget Mike Brown uses the pre-season to get a good look at the guys and the people who he already established don't get super minutes, he gives 3rd and 4th stringers a chance to challenge the guys he already has in his mind for the 2nd spots off the bench. So the fact he played Meeks and CDR late meant good things. He's a best for last kind of guy with the mentality of "Alright.. they showed they could do this out there, now go out there and show why you deserve to still be on the 2nd unit." and CDR went out there and showed out, and Meeks eventually started coming around.

Tonight I think Ebanks, Meeks and CDR will play useful minutes. I'd be more worried about who else is out there with them. Cause if CDR is out there with Duhon I'll weep <_<

Could be a blessing in disguise as mentioned for CDR. This might be his chance to step up & shine. I already know what he's capable of, but unfortunately Mike Brown and some of the Lakers probably don't.

Mike Brown has said on 3 separate occasions now that CDR has turned his head in game and in practice and that he's impressed <_<

i highly doubt this is real cause for concern. its prolly just a way for kobe to get a pass on not playing in the preseason gm.

I have a strained shoulder from a dunk in practice. I'm out for a day or so but that's it. Nothing serious at all.

Here I am before practice yesterday--during a therapy on my shoulder--with a surprise visitor. The Great Elgin Baylor! This is the Laker legend I learned my rocker step move from. His number 22 hangs in the rafters of Staples along with the other Laker legends. This is one of the great things about being with the Lakers, you never know which NBA great will pop in for a chat.
