honestly, hes not gunna look 100% , ive seen practice vids, his explosiveness looks about 90% not ANY higher.. dont overact to Sunday yall

Interesting because many reporters said he looks almost as explosive than he did last season.

But regardless, he'll be rusty. But he'll still be his athletic freakish self

i saw sacre block him today on TWC, saw him miss a alley oop cuz he didnt jump high enough, thats not normal freak dwight. every dunk ive seen him do, hes not too high above the rim. from what ive seen, im suprised that he's not projected to miss a couple games, which is fine with me.

Kobe and Randle led Lakers lead the team to a 32-50 record. the Lakers select Myles Turner with the 5th pick.

Howard's targeted debut on Sunday vs Kings will be on NBA TV.
Tomorrow won't be though.

He’s been reported to look strong in practice, and now Lakers fans are going to get their wish.

Dwight Howard will make his debut as a Laker Sunday in a preseason game against the Kings at Staples Center, according to Marc Spears and Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo Sports.

“He is making progress,” one Lakers source told Yahoo! Sports. “There is a good chance he can play Sunday.”

The Lakers have brought Howard along slowly following off-season back surgery. He had been on schedule to play in some preseason games — he’d been cleared for full-contact practices — but the Lakers had wanted to move cautiously because they are not playing for the Oct. 30 season opener and they didn’t want to rush him back.

However, some time on the court for Howard to get used to running the pick-and-roll with Steve Nash, to get used to a high-low post game with Pau Gasol, to learn to play with Kobe Bryant. That group needs to develop some chemistry and some preseason minutes speeds that process along.

Not that Lakers fans should expect a monster night out of Howard, but just having him on the court is a big first step.

1 thing to notice is Woj is saying this too which is definatly someone I trust but still I think even if he was 110% they would still possibly not play him out of being cautious. Though I really hope it is cuz the greedy fan inside of me want to see him play already.

The Los Angeles Lakers have targeted Sunday's preseason game against the Sacramento Kings for Dwight Howard to make his debut, several sources told Yahoo! Sports on Thursday night.
Barring any complications with Howard's back over the next couple days, the Lakers are optimistic the All-Star center will make their first appearance for them on Sunday.

"He is making progress," one Lakers source told Yahoo! Sports. "There is a good chance he can play Sunday."
Howard has been sidelined since having surgery in April to repair a herniated disk. He's not expected to play against the Kings on Friday in Las Vegas. The Lakers would like Howard to play in two of their three remaining preseason games after Friday, sources said. But they're hesitant to play him in both games of a back-to-back Wednesday and Thursday.

Howard hasn't had any setbacks in practices since training camp began. If he has another strong workout on Saturday, team doctors are expected to clear him to play Sunday.
Howard would like to get some game experience with Kobe Bryant, Pau Gasol and Steve Nash before the Lakers' Oct. 30 season opener against the Dallas Mavericks.
"I'll be a little nervous out there for the first time, but [Nash] said he would help me through it and hopefully it will be OK," Howard told reporters after Thursday's practice.

Written by Mark Spears but Woj contributed to it so I would give this a 75% of being true because you never know if they will change there mind.

the players are gunna feed off the crowd so much this season, its gunna be a game 7 atmosphere all season long. i mean, theres alot of hype around Antawn Jamison,he'll have the crowd very happy i imagine. dwight and nash tho, the crowd could explode at dwight grabbing boards, they will most def explode at dwight blocking shots and dunking, theyll just explode any time dwight or steve scores, and at steves passes..
