this s again a he could play tommorow but wy take the chance for a pre season game. If he can just play one that would be perfect just so he could get the jitters out

Maybe, but if that the case we need to make a "Dwight Howard Injury Update Thread" so we won't need to make a thread every time

There really should be a sticky thread for all Dwight Howard updates. Perhaps this could be it.

This has more to do with him being able to participate in a bigger role within training camp because of his back recuping, but it's ultimately up to the mods. If this stays open then there's no problem :)

If we somehow land Dwight Howard AND Nash (which is one of the biggest reaches I've posted, don't think that will happen), then yeah...I have no problem with it, because Howard won't allow anyone to take Nash off the dribble 30+ minutes a game.

Sort of hesitant to pin the topic because there may not be many updates after the significant one today but when he is cleared 100%, I will unpin it.

Yea thats good. I have a feeling we will see a lot more updates on this soon. Like rumors that he will play or not and what not cuz he is getting very close to being 100%.

any way lets get back on topic.

I wonder if he is 100% right now or they are just being extremely cautious. Like I know he may not be in 100% shape but if his back is 100%.

He's been cleared for 5 on 5 full-court with limited minutes so I'm assuming he's around 90%, no less than 85% though. Once he is fully cleared with no restrictions that's when he will be 100%.

@LakersReporter
Howard seems to have come out of the scrimmage well. He's hammer dunking missed FT's from teammates now, just for fun.

@KevinDing
Watching Lakers scrimmage: Dwight with monster block of Douglas-Roberts' dunk attempt ... and then vicious dunk at other end.

Kobe dunked on CDR and now Howard monster blocked him.

Long as he keeps showing his skills during games he's fine. Then again getting dunked on by Kobe and blocked by Dwight is nothing terrible :glasses:

I'm all for Dwight taking the super-cautious route, but it would be nice to have him back to begin the season. It's been awhile since the Lakers have had their starting 5 to begin the season.

He will defiantly be there by the start of the season.He still has another 20 days till game 1 and in just this past week he went from only do simple drills to full 5 on 5 practice. I think he will be 100% in another week defiantly.

Omg he destroyed him.

What's promising about Dwight (and is a big difference then Bynum), is that Dwight can be guarding his player and has the athleticism to come over and block him like that. That wasn't a fingertip block by any means. I don't know how many times I watched Bynum guarding his player and a guard drive the lane and Bynum not even attempt to get off the ground
