bingo,minutes r PERFECT, our 2nd unit is now better than with Jhill. and ive said the same about CDR now

I don't think our second unit is better without Hill if you're looking at only our second unit players, not starters playing with the second unit.

This would be a crucial loss because Hill works harder than anyone in our front court not named Dwight.

@Lakers fans, Jordan Hill's L5, S1 disc injury potentially can be MORE severe than Dwight's. I'll explain tomo at 7:30am w/ @Mark_T_Willard

Losing Hill hurts us depth-wise, but I don't think it's so significant that we'd need to go out and make a quick signing this early. We'll already have a stable rotation of bigs consisting of Howard, Gasol and Jamison. Howard and Gasol already play around 36 minutes a night, if Jamison fills in the other 24 I don't see what the problem is.

C: Dwight (36) / Gasol (12)
PF: Gasol (24) / Jamison (24)

We could always play Sacre for spot minutes at the 5 or MWP at spot minutes at the 4. We shouldn't have any real issues. The one positive I'm hoping for is that losing some depth convinces the front office to sign CDR as the backup 3, thus shifting Jamison full-time as the backup 4.

I think Earl Clark is going to get the first opportunity for spot minutes. He has a guaranteed contract and already has playing experience.

Lumbar Herniated Disc Symptoms
Approximately 90% of disc herniations will occur toward the bottom of the spine at L4- L5 (lumbar segments 4 and 5) or L5- S1 (lumbar segment 5 and sacral segment1), which causes pain in the L5 nerve or S1 nerve, respectively.

L5 nerve impingement from a herniated disc can cause weakness in extending the big toe and potentially in the ankle (foot drop). Numbness and pain can be felt on top of the foot, and the pain may also radiate into the buttock.

S1 nerve impingement from a herniated disc may cause loss of the ankle reflex and/or weakness in ankle push off (patients cannot do toe rises). Numbness and pain can radiate down to the sole or outside of the foot (see Figure 2).

Found this, kinda gives you an idea why it could provide problems down the road

He's out at least 4-5 months, I'm guessing. Not good for him, nor Lakers. I don't like the option of Kenyon Martin. We can somehow manage for 2-3 months with Clark & Sacre, then pull a trade around Dec. or grab someone from FA list.

Well Dwight did have his back surgery in April and he's due to come back sooner than expected and its said that Jordan hills disk is worst than Dwight's so he could be out for a very long time

That blows .. The guy would've been great this year. He improved his jump shot and could've been part of a very good bench .. Nowe we have to sign Sacre. Suddenly the free spots on the team are getting fewer and fewer. Let's see who else makes the team.
