Backstage Lakers had a special on Pau Gasol today.... uh oh....

If we somehow land Dwight Howard AND Nash (which is one of the biggest reaches I've posted, don't think that will happen), then yeah...I have no problem with it, because Howard won't allow anyone to take Nash off the dribble 30+ minutes a game.

You should reach more often

Pau Gasol could join Ricky Rubio at Minnesota Timberwolves

It seems ESPN.com, backed up by information from reporter David Aldridge, has let the cat out of the bag. Negotiations are taking place involving the transfer of Spanish basketball player Pau Gasol. The L.A. Lakers' power forward could be joining the Minnesota Timberwolves, where he would join up with fellow countryman Ricky Rubio.
The Wolves are also set to sign Kim English from the Detroit Pistons.
The Lakers would acquire the services of Derrick Williams and J.J. Barea (Timberwolves), Trevor Ariza – who would return home from the Washington Wizards - and Jonas Jerebko (Detroit Pistons).
The Wizards will snap up Charlie Villanueva (Pistons), Nikola Pekovic (Wolves) and Chris Duhon (Lakers), whilst the Detroit Pistons will sign Emeka Okafor.
These are turbulent times at Lakers. The team's poor start to the season has already led to the dismissal of coach, Mike Brown. Mike D'Antoni's style of play requires a different type of player and Pau Gasol once again seems to be surplus to requirements.

Damn... do the Lakers plan to do a heart felt feature story before guys get the boot out of LA?

Pau is a good guy. It's unfortunate that he is struggling.

Pretty much, I think Pau is a marvelous and wonderful individual and more people in the NBA should look at him for inspiration to their own actions off the court. But no one can deny it's just not working this year. Business wise we can get and do better than we are doing right now and I just don't see him coming around. Beautiful piece though. But if it stays true to form.. he'll be the next to go.

Barea coud be our backup PG, Ariza becomes the backup SF, Jerebko is an energy player off the bench, and Williams so far is a bust, but under the right coaching staff he can become something, plenty of potential.

This would if it was true, have to be for salary reasons. David Aldridge made a deal on his own mind to help the Lakers trade Pau. Derrick Williams is cool. I'd love to get Ariza and JJ.. With Ariza having the biggest contract out of the three or four. That a salary steal type move. JJ would be a nice PG Addition. I don't like the deal at all though.
