Let this be a lesson to the world how internet success doesn't mean a damn thing when it comes to making money.
Kreayshawn just released her debut album last week.
In the 1st week of sales she sold 4,000 albums.
38 million youtube views = 4,000 album sales.

in her defense, I just found out that for the first 7 days her album was exclusively available only at Hot Topic. Not itunes. Not Amazon, Spotify, Bestbuy, Rhapsody or any other big online retailers.
I didnt even know Hot Topic still existed. So maybe selling 4000 actual CD's was a huge accomplishment.
She signed with SONY for $1 million and Hot Topic paid SONY $250K to be the only retailer to sell her album for the first week. So really the only loser thus far is Hot Topic. Whoever signed that deal just got fired....lol.
So dont count Kray out just yet. Now that shes available on itunes, etc, it will be interesting to see what happens from a music retail business perspective.
