Howard Beck ‏@HowardBeckNYT
One note from ref camp: NBA is close to finalizing policy on flopping. Will not carry in-game penalty. Will be reviewed after. Poss fine.

How are they gonna tell which player is flopping tho? What if a player is not trying to flop but the ref sees it as a flop?

^ All I know is it's a good problem to have to deal with rather than letting it go entirely and doing nothing. This is great news. Certainly a step in the right direction. I'm sure there will be adjustments/changes made on the fly as needed considering this is the first time they're doing this so it'll probably possibly be like an experimentation process for a while as well.

after thinking about it, I think this will be for the extreme floppers like Blake Griffin etc that does it over dramatic

" NBA will review each "flop" situation after game has ended, similar to what the NFL does. Will review play and address fines if needed. "

It's a good start.

I'd really like to see one game suspensions for over dramatic flops like the Evans one posted above.

Pau,Nash, and Kobe all flop so I can care less about the rule and I'm sure it won't deter them much either.

One of the biggest black eyes on the NBA.

I think they need to up the ante and call a foul on the flopper.

Pau Gasol is GONE

well about time thank goodness I don't think it will completely stop the flop as I know its just in the nature of many NBA players to just flop but I do think it will help for the future as they keep on adjusting the rule later on maybe make it to where they can analyze it during the game and not just post.

In other words, the NBA is close to finalizing the Clippers slipping into the 7th spot in the playoffs and Blake Griffin's defense getting even worse.
