Mike Bresnahan@Mike_Bresnahan
Steve Nash is doing some on-court things today and tomorrow to see how he feels. He will not play Tuesday. Blake also out Tuesday vs. IND.

Mark Medina@MedinaLakersNBA
Steve Nash was going to receive an MRI today, but Lakers canceled it. They want to see how he looks today and tomororw

Those are very good signs, perhaps Nash is starting to respond well.

It's a light game week for LAL, who played 5 last week but just 3 this week. Clearly, they won't rush Nash or Blake back.

Posted Image Mike Trudell@LakersReporter
Steve Blake has improved, but his abdominal strain is not to the point where he can practice.

Posted Image Mike Trudell@LakersReporter
Nash will not meet w/a Dr. or get an MRI today. Team plans on putting him through some drills in next few days to see how he responds.

Posted Image Mike Trudell@LakersReporter
Furthermore, Darius Morris & Chris Duhon have played well enough in reserve duty, & Kobe's been initiating the offense.

Posted Image Mike Trudell@LakersReporter
A good sign for LAL: Kobe is practicing, running up & down late in practice in the scrimmage. Sign that his foot/ankle pain has decreased.

Posted Image Mike Trudell@LakersReporter
To clarify, Nash will be doing agility drills & jogging. No basketball drills, but still a step up from what he was doing (elliptical).

Posted Image Mike Trudell@LakersReporter
D'Antoni: "We're really good if we play with energy." LAL have shown him that, so he'll expect it every night, if easier said than done.

Posted Image Mike Trudell@LakersReporter
D'Antoni on the bench in the past two games: "Love it." Jamison, Meeks obvious standouts.

Posted Image Mike Trudell@LakersReporter
Here's paugasol taking questions from the media horde after LAL's Monday practice. http://instagr.am/p/SgclpcS7wy/

Posted Image Mike Trudell@LakersReporter
Pau Gasol has been dealing w/some tendinitis in his knees that's "a little" limiting. But not on injury report, won't miss time.

Posted Image Mike Trudell@LakersReporter
Gasol doesn't appear overly concerned about the knee tendinitis; just something to monitor & keep under control.

Good signs all around!

Dwight Howard said he recognizes his biggest value to LAL = owning paint on D. Not concerned w/touches, which he said will come w/effort.

Posted Image Mike Trudell@LakersReporter
Howard said he & Gasol will get more than their fair of touches if both are aggressive/active. Ball finds energy, as D'Antoni likes to say.

Hopefully all the "Dwight needs touches or he won't come back" bull can end now.

Thanks. Good signs, Dwight kinda realized he should not be dominant on O as he was in Orlando. < that doesn't mean he is not as important as Kobe ,of course, on that side.

yeah it all depends on how defenses defend him.

Our offense is designed to punish the defense with any player they are playing the weakest on and take any advantage we have.

Some nights Dwight is gonna have a big game but we aren't gonna force feed it to him when they are heavily defending him. Basically everyone is a weapon in our offense, it's a simpler version of what we tried to run before with a lot more PnR so it isn't a LONG transition.

In this offense everyone is a weapon depending on what the defense is giving us. So if they are playing Dwight hard we will "bust them with someone else" as D'antoni put it.

So we don't need Dwight to go 30-15 for us to win games because we make them pay elsewhere.

And I like it.

Good news about Nash. Trust me, I'm sure Dwight will get plenty of touches once Nash returns.

Thanks for showing us how Mike Brown system doesn't work.

MDA is an offensive genius. I hope he sticks to his guns and keeps doing what he does best: Run and Gun. That's the only way to coach.

I don't think so. Until this very moment, its all on Kobe, sadly. You see, MWP had 1 or 2 great nights but rest of the games were very good but not(or not yet) games were he took off the load from others. Same goes to Pau where he had only one great night(Mavs) ..

Bench ? Meeks ( Kings ) .. Jamison improved and hope is still improving ...

The team didn't show or proved what is underlined in your statement. So i don't know how you came to a conclusion that we are a multi offensive players team. At least speaking from the beginning of the season.

For What I've seen so far and With all our issues we've been through, we need 60ppg from Dwight and Kobe.

Unless the team plays as everybody thought they would, we don't need those numbers from them every game

Dwight's comments on owning the paint on D and not being concerned about touches... i've been waiting for him to come out with that statement in particular.
