How about this, I just found out a few days ago that my cousin is the an on-air talent for TWC Deportes. Pretty cool, she was on the other night during the Lakers first pre-season game for a social media segment. I believe she'll be the hosting the social media stuff.

The Lakers offices have received calls protesting the TV deal, as have the Time Warner SportsNet offices in El Segundo. A network spokesperson who declined to be identified said SportsNet vice president and general manager Mark Shuken was “shocked” by the intensity of the reaction, saying he was impressed that Lakers fans cared so much[

So i have to say im having a whole bunch of mixed feelings on this whole time warner thing with the Lakers. Those of you not in the know, you can only watch laker games on time warner cable for the next 10 years. TW bought the rights for 3 billion dollars(Dr. Evil would be proud). I felt anger at first because I do not have TW, I have Directv and I will have to bug friends with TW to watch these games. There was a good amount of anger too, I've been a big Laker fan most of my life, I mean as So cal natives the Lakers are our birthright. So I started to ponder this at a higher level than just anger and I came to the conclusion that this was probably the best thing that could have happened to our team. I mean to get players like Steve Nash and Dwight Howard is not cheap, sacrifices have to be made sometimes for greatness, and with this the Lakers are going to be able afford to pay these players so we can keep the championship banners hangin at Staples. After all winning is all that matters. Don't get me wrong though, I hope that very soon a deal will be made so everyone can watch the lakers, no matter what tv provider you may own. Yet I will leave you with this final thought. If you do get TW you are being the ultimate fan, Why? Because you yourself are giving your money to a company who is giving that money straight to your team. It's your investing in the greatness that is our Los Angeles Lakers.

Someone commented on an article with this. Its kinda a good point too. I mean you cant blame the buss family for taking that deal. Makes them tons of money and still able to get good players.

I think when the channel is made aviable to everyone things will be better than ever. I just hope TWS gets better at there coverage. These last 2 preseason games are kinda a joke.

U-Verse customers go to request the channel here

http://uversechannels.att.com/

Seems this is a better way to do it instead of iwantmylakers.com for Uverse users.

If we somehow land Dwight Howard AND Nash (which is one of the biggest reaches I've posted, don't think that will happen), then yeah...I have no problem with it, because Howard won't allow anyone to take Nash off the dribble 30+ minutes a game.

You should reach more often ;)

This is the new D12 thread for me.

I don't think deals will be done till one threatens to walk away from talks. This seems to be the MO in negotiations like this.

Time Warner today, went right to several commercials during the game and just randomly cut back. Don't think I ever recall KCAL or FS do something like that. Beyond unprofessional and disgraceful to say the least.

To be fair, those channels have been running for more than a few weeks.

No need to be 'fair'. They have yet to deserve the benefit of the doubt.

Just saying it'll be around for a while, so I'm guessing they'll work the kinks out eventually.
