People will see Bynum's numbers and not take anything else into account.

After Howard has a subpar game, I wonder how long it will take for the first, "Was the trade really a good idea?" topic.
After Dwight loses the tip in his first game.

...especially when you have guys already saying that Howard should put up 25/15 here, completely ignoring the fact that we have Kobe, Nash, Gasol, and Jamison on this roster.
It kind of reminds me of 2004, when Kobe averaged 24, and Shaq put up 20 PPG...and people actually stated that Kobe was already slowing down, and that Shaq was near retirement.
I didn't even realized we got Antwan Jamison lol wow thats a good pick up

What I'm not looking froward to are the inevitable "see what we traded away" posts.
Bynum is going to get a tone of touches in Philly and be the focus of the offense there, so his numbers are going to be bigger than they were here some nights. I know that there are going to be a ton of people here playing the, "I told you so" game when it happens and I'm going to get sick of it instantly.
Disturbed: I'd much rather have "Broke Back DH" then "Broke Brain AB". Howard will be beyond fine. Put it this way - Bynum had a career year and he was still statistically worse (in most categories) than Howard, who had a shortened year with a bad back.
no.. THOSE threads will come if we play Philly and we lose and Bynum is the cause of it. If Howard has 20/10 in that game and Bynum has 35/13 then the threads will be the entire first page.
If we somehow land Dwight Howard AND Nash (which is one of the biggest reaches I've posted, don't think that will happen), then yeah...I have no problem with it, because Howard won't allow anyone to take Nash off the dribble 30+ minutes a game.

On top of that, Bynum could have stopped this whole deal if he really wanted to. All he would have had to do is tell Philly that he absolutely wouldn't re-sign there, and it would be pretty unlikely that this happens. If Drew were playing in Miami or Boston, I would absolutely root against him, but come on? Philly? Who the hell has anything against Philadelphia?? On the contrary, they can only help us by beating up on the Heat/Celtics.

Why would he do that, though? When Drew becomes a free agent next summer, teams that are over the cap won't be able to sign-and-trade for him...so he'll more than likely end up on a bad team to begin with.On top of that, Bynum could have stopped this whole deal if he really wanted to. Philly is home to him, and he instantly becomes the primary scoring option...and not only that, but he knows the Sixers will do anything to keep him around for a while.
This trade was perfect for Bynum, as far as granting his wishes goes. It won't necessarily be the best case scenario for him as a true winner, but he'll find that out starting late October.

The 76'ers is the perfect team for him right now. He gets to be the #1 option, play close to home, and the team has a good core of young players that are only going to get better.
