Probably no thread because the game has just become something for the fan boys really. The game gets dumber and dumber with each release. I mean I seen a trailer where a guy that pulls out a machine that emits heat waves so you cant seem him, what? I hate all the gimmick bs they put in these games anymore. COD2 was the best game because everyone just had a gun, none of these predator missiles, or heartbeat tracer things. Probably wont buy another call of duty game ever for the simple fact they just put stupid stuff in there and the fan boys jump up saying this is the best game ever! I will stick to Battle field games from now on.

Same.. I was going to pick up MW3 because all my friends were telling me to get it. One of my buddies lent me it and I thought it was stupid. Strike package/support package/specialist was over-hyped. It is just a few new 'features' added.

Also, it probabbly won't be a huge upgrade over MW3 or Black Ops, which I both own. Slightly improved graphics on a recycled engine, new weapons and settings, same old [expletive]. Will probably still feel sluggish and outdated.

After having played BF3 since launch, then playing MW3 recently, it's just no comparison. Battlefield 3 is superior in every possible way, the only edge I gave to MW3 was its campaign which I enjoyed better than the BF3 single player, but no ones cares about that anymore.

Battlefield FTW. They have 100% won me over and i'll without a doubt pre-order BF4 day one. That game is pure awesomeness.

but I have the damnedest time with the game. the lag is some of the worst I've seen. I play to get better, but I still pretty much suck. these are Really the only games that keep my interest. I hate sucking. I think playing the game will magically make me better. pretty sure that's false. It just irks the hell out of me how bad I am. I can't believe it sometimes.

Crouch/stand when turning corners, if there are people there it makes u a harder target. Try to have some sort of cover protecting u, stick to walls, use boxes and columns and [expletive]. Avoid areas that I call deadzones, those places people love to rush to cuz they kno it's where the actions at, unless u can handle yourself. I try to run around the perimeter and pick off people I find, i hardly ever cut right down the middle of a map.

even though i dont really play COD anymore, i was really good at it

the most important thing you can do to get better is to first find a gun you like and just stick with it..if your not good at the game, switching new guns every other round will not get you into any rhythm and will throw you off, so you need to find a gun you like and stick with it

on cod4 i rolled with the m16, on mw2 i used the famas, and on black ops i used the famas and the aug ..i didnt get mw3

i sucked on all those games at first until i found a gun i liked and just stuck with it until i figured out its mechanics/recoil rate etc

another thing is, you need to learn how to tactfully secure an area AKA learn how to camp..alot of people dont like camping and you dont have to do it alot, but if you want to stay alive longer, you need to learn how to hide...i dont camp alot or stay in just one area when i play these games, i run around, but like @androsays said, you need to avoid the "dead areas"..i rarely go in the middle of maps on TDM

wen a map first starts i usually go in the opposite direction of where everyone else runs, then i try to make my way over to the other teams base by tactfully securing certain areas (camping) until i make it to the other teams side, and i do that by crouching/crawling/hiding in the bushes..when you do that, you avoid running around like a rag doll and you avoid alot of fire fights in the middle of the maps..90% of the time i walk along the outer edges of the map and i dont even go in the middle areas where everyone else goes

wen i did all those things on blackops, i went from a 1.8 overall K/D to a 3

Naa, COD games more have to do with spray and pray rather than skills. Its really just a game to test your reactions thats about it. Throw in the auto aim and well if you can hit RT faster than the other guy your gonna win.

well it depends

its true cod is one of the most easiest games ever to just pick up and spray and pray, but if you play against people who know what their doing, even with aim assist and all that other BS, you will not win

I never really improved my game on Black Ops. My K/D was its highest like at 0.76 IIRC.

But I did use a bunch of different weapons. Never really stuck with one.

I can honestly say i've improved the more I played on BF3 tho. K/D went from like 0.80 to 1.12 currently, which for me is like unheard of.

I've gotten a bit smarter at it tho, i've learned to supress, use cover, throw frags in a tactical manner, use burst fire instead of just wasting a clip and missing everything, etc.

Yeah, takes a lot of trial and error, this is the first FPS that I consider myself pretty good at, but it took me like 5 months for me to feel fully comfortable with certain weapons and loadouts, attachments, etc. When I first got the game I used a lot of LMG's because of my poor accuracy and the weapons large magazines. I used that with an ACOG sight and I was average at best, struggled some, I never felt like I was good tho lol.

Then I found out about(or rather started caring about) rate of fire, damage the weapons do, amount of recoil, how certain attachments like supressors and foregrips do wonders for some weapons and make others perform worse, etc. Even started watching some clips on youtube from some of the more popular BF3 dudes, that really helps too.

I used to ALWAYS have to aim down my sights to shoot at an enemy, but i've gotten way better at hip firing too, that comes in handy in extreme close quarter situations, like literally running into an enemy. Also it's always better to switch to your secondary instead of reloading, unless it's safe to do so. Just some of the stuff i've picked up over time.

Like someone else said tho, COD games are straight up run and gun spray fests. Nothing wrong with that, and some skill is required, but unless you're a dope ass player with a 4 K/D ratio and 28% accuracy you're gonna more than likely gonna get a kill, die, get 2 kills, die twice, kill 4 in a row, die 3 times and finish a TDM 21 and 19

using diff loadouts isnt bad, but if you are trying to get better, i would recommend finding 1 or 2 guns you are really good at and just sticking with them for afew days and u should see some improvements

also the suggestions ace said is pretty good even tho he plays bf3, those same tactics applies to all FPS games

using short bursts when you shoot guns instead of going full auto also increases ur accuracy ALOT

attachments on the guns are a big thing aswell, alot of people use the suppressors, but those mess my game up, so i dont use it, i just use the red dot sights

so its basically just trial and error finding which guns u like..im biased towards the assault guns, but you might be better with the SMG's/LMG's/snipers

this is basically how i secure areas..after i clear things out, i just move on to the next

Yea the level of opponent does matter, but at its purest form this game is just one that test your reactions really, rather than one of strategy or skill.

well you know, that can be said about ANY game

most games in general are just a test of your reactions

to say that it tests your reactions (spray & pray) more than strategy or skill? idk about tht

if COD took no strategy or skill, then the level of competition wouldnt matter, everyone would be good at it, but that is not the case

you can get afew lucky kills here and there via spray & pray, but you wont consistently do good every game unless you have some kinda skill/strategy

strategy/skill can be anythin from knowing a better path around the map, finding better vantage points, knowing when to use flash grenades, knowing wen to cook grenades, knowing when to shoot guns in short burst vs when to shoot fully automatic, knowing when to stab, etc

^ those are things a skilled person would do that a casual wouldnt..relying solely on reflexes wont help you in the long run if you dont know these things

so i know this game is easier than other games to just pick up and play, but its hard to master

if you put a team of 4 random players together against a team of 4 people who know what they are doing, the randoms arent going to win

^ that statement may be obvious, but it just shows that these games do take some kinda strategy in order to do well

I wish they would go back to their roots and make a WWII game again.
