Bull[expletive]. Karl played like crap throughout the preseason, both Giles and Crawford played better. But, I suppose it doesn't matter, as 15th man wouldn't be getting very much playing time.

crawford had one decent outing in a preseason game. karl outplayed him all summer league, and the guy played actual nba minutes last year and had some Laker fans saying that he was taking Luke's spot on the team. Giles was interesting to me, but these guys will probably go to the d-fenders also.
Again - this team, as currently constructed won't make it out of the second round of the playoffs, let alone the West or win the Finals.---fido on 2011 Lakers

Crawford was trying to fit in, Colby knew everybody and the system already.

i knew giles had no chance but i was a tiny bit suprised with crawford being cut but stuff happens
i know sun yue didn't have a lot of time in training camp but was i the only one who thought he really sucked

Well I too thought Sun Yue sucked in the games he's been in, but I dunno. He seems like a Sasha-type player (without the shooting, but you get my drift.) Maybe a late-bloomer? We could possibly keep him for development, seeing as we have a deep bench now.
If it was between him and Karl, I'd probably lean towards Yue, he may be a project but I don't see Karl developing into anything too special. Although we might be lacking another shooter at the guard Karl's skillset is already in Walton, Odom, Vujacic, etc; he'd probably make a good system player though. Yue could either develop into a Marco Jaric type or be a complete bust, it's hard to tell.
