Snoop gave him the nickname Black Mamba. Interested in seeing how Devon Blackmon turns out alot of talk he did before signing with Oregon, he should get a chance this season to play.

Marcus Mariota wins QB job for No. 5 Oregon
-----------------EUGENE, Ore. (AP) -- Redshirt freshman Marcus Mariota has won the job as starting quarterback for No. 5 Oregon.
Oregon coach Chip Kelly announced Friday that Mariota earned the position over sophomore Bryan Bennett, who was Darron Thomas' backup last season. Thomas left school early to declare his eligibility for the NFL draft.
Oregon went 12-2 last season and defeated Wisconsin in the Rose Bowl. The Ducks open this season at home against Arkansas State on Sept. 1.
Mariota is the first freshman to start in an opener for Oregon since Danny O'Neil in 1991.
Kelly, Mariota and Bennett were not available for comment until workouts on Saturday, the school said.

Man I really thought a team from the Sun Belt conference could upset the Ducks.... Lol.
Offense is solid again but you've allowed 461 yards to Arkansas State at home? Yikes. Thought the defense was supposed to be better this season?

The Duck defense has not looked good whatsoever against inferior opponents. I think Ducks win but in a shoot out 45-38

If your starting defense is on the field, yes lol.
I'm just going by what I've seen from Oregon's defense this season. They are due for a good defensive effort so that could happen tonight but we'll see.

Yeah, about that....how are those future recruiting classes looking without Chip Kelly now? Reminds me of the scene in Jerry Maguire when the guy gives the whole "my word is stronger than oak" guarantee.
