Apparently we aren't giving up the young prospects that the Cubs want. Will be interesting to see how this goes

Bullpen gets a lot better with League.

Can't wait for tomorrow, if we can get a starter and another bat, this will be the best deadline in some time for the franchise

ATL so far has made the biggest moves, Paul Maholm and Reed Johnson are solid additions for that team. Maholm has allowed either 0 or 1 run in his last 7 starts. Crazy

If they don't though, it'd be absolutely shocking if they go all the way or even close possibly.

Btw, this might be a pre-cursor to a bigger trade tomorrow. Been reading that Lindblom could be on his way out. Phillies and Cubs were interested in him.

If they don't though, it'd be absolutely shocking if they go all the way or even close possibly.

They are a playoff team as currently constructed. Ceiling is the NLCS right now.

I agree with that completely, but that's not good enough. I'll be extremely disappointed if I don't see more done by tomorrow, especially with all the promises new ownership made, specifically Magic (eventhough it's year one).

This team is like the 2010 OKC Thunder. Young stars getting battle tested, especially in playoffs and improve. If we make the playoffs we reached our goal for 2012, anything beyond that is a bonus. This team has been a mess the last 2 and a half years, not many teams rebound as well as they have this year

But with baseball it's hit and miss. It's whoever is playing the best, not so much most talented team.

In year one, this team is far ahead of schedule. Not many thought they'd do a lot this year.

They are being active in trade talks and as we saw in the Ramirez deal, they are spending the money (also evident in signing Puig).

There's no disappointment and shouldn't be. They made promises of making the team better and they have done that, and are trying to do even more.

After years of McCourt, there should be 0 disappointment from fans. I'd rather be at the deadline involved with big name players instead of trying to be excited over getting Octavio Dotel.

RT @Ken_Rosenthal: #Dodgers remain active on other fronts. Still talking to #Phillies about OFers, #Cubs about Dempster/Soriano and heaven knows what else.

RT @JimBowdenESPNxm: Alfonso Soriano has told Cubs he will not go to Giants in trade

From Soriano's comments earlier today about only accepting a deal to a good team in a good city, it sounds like the Dodgers may be that team. If Dempster/Soriano only want LA, we have a lot of leverage.

I'm extremely giddy at the possibility of Dempster/Soriano.

What a statement the new owners would be making with that commitment to winning no matter the cost.

What a night and day difference between the old owners (their name shall not be mentioned).

#dodgers and #Phillies close to a deal sending Shane Victorino to LA for Josh Lindblom and 2nd player. More to come at http://ESPN.com

Nice pickup. We need one more starter though! Gotta address that

http://www.cbssports...tting-victorino

The Phillies are close to sending outfielder Shane Victorino to the Dodgers for reliever Josh Lindblom and one other player, sources tell CBSSports.com.

The move is the first of what could be a flurry of them today for the Phillies while the Dodgers continue to fortify a roster they believe can get them deep into October.

Victorino, 31, is hitting .261 with a .324 on-base percentage, nine homers and 40 RBI for the Phillies this season. A free agent this winter, Victorino could play left field for the Dodgers (Matt Kemp surely will stay in center field).

Im gonna miss Lindblom. He was solid

Wish we would get Pence if we have to give up Lindblom.

Seems like giving up a lot just to potentially see Shane walk in the offseason.

Good move. Brings speed to the lineup, something we've lacked with Dee Gordon out.

Man, when Dee gets back, can you imagine both these guys getting on base with Ethier/Kemp/Ramirez batting? That's a nightmare for opposing pitchers and teams.

Everyone is saying "I'd rather have Pence, Choo..." etc. While I would like those guys too, we don't know the asking price. It was reported the price for Pence was outrageous and with what the Cubs want for a rental in Dempster, one can only imagine what they are asking for Soriano.

Best part is that I am reading this possibly means the Phillies are holding onto Pence, which takes him out of play for the Giants, so we'll see.

Lindblom isn't exactly anything to write home about. I said last night with the trade for League, Lindblom was probably on his way out. He was borderline solid, but he isn't a player you keep if it means getting a player that can help you win now. The past few seasons, with lack of money, I would say keep him but with new ownership, we can go out and sign relievers twice as good as him now in the off-season.

True. I wonder if this is our last deal we'll make today.

I don't think we are done.

Dempster is the probable result and I think there is possibly one more move that will come out of no where.
