Don't be surprised if the Angels try to one-up the Dodgers and steal Pence or Victorino.
The Los Angeles Angels made their big move Friday, acquiring right-hander Zack Greinke from the Milwaukee Brewers for shortstop Jean Segura and two minor-league pitchers.
At the time, the team also was exploring the trade market for relievers, according to major-league sources. But general manager Jerry Dipoto acknowledged Sunday that the Angels likely would make no further moves before Tuesday’s non-waiver deadline at 4 p.m. ET.
“That’s pretty accurate,” Dipoto said. “If we’re to do anything else, it would come under the guise of ‘creative.’ We don’t want to dig any deeper into our system. That (the trade with the Brewers) was a painful give.
“I’ve had discussions internally and with other GMs about this. We have a 25-man roster we like. Anybody else we bring on will cost us somebody. (Beyond) the player-acquisition cost, we would have to move someone off the 25-man roster. There is not a lot of room to do that without losing someone who plays a key role on the club.”
They could still do something but they have spent a lot of money this past season and don't want to give up prospects. They could add another bat though, but not sure if they want to pay the price.

I really wanted the Dodgers to go after & get Matt Garza, but after hearing a lot of alarming reports about him recently, I've backed off that stance mightily.

Lol, I was kidding guys, but sorry, my bad. But honestly, do you want Ervin Santana or Vernon Wells? You can have them for free. Good grief.
I really wanted the Dodgers to go after & get Matt Garza, but after hearing a lot of alarming reports about him recently, I've backed off that stance mightily.
Yeah they found some fluid in his arm, not a good deal.
I thought the Dodgers were going to end up with him but after the injury stuff, not happening now.

They can have victorino, great fielder but at best average hitter.

It was shut down:" Giants VP Bobby Evans texts that there's "no truth to the rumor" the Giants have a deal in place for Pence."

Still dont want him going to the Giants.

@Ken_Rosenthal
Source: Soriano remains part of discussions between #Dodgers and #Cubs involving Dempster.
Soriano is having a pretty good year this year. If they can get both him and Dempster in a deal, they could look to add a first baseman.
If they do that AND get Morneau:
Mark Ellis
Andre Ethier
Matt Kemp
Hanley Ramirez
Justin Morneau
A. Soriano
Cruz
AJ Ellis
Yikes

From what I've just read. The Dodgers are out on Morneao. Since the Twins want a pitcher who is major league ready. Also Dodgers not interested in Cliff Lee.Soriano is having a pretty good year this year. If they can get both him and Dempster in a deal, they could look to add a first baseman.
If they do that AND get Morneau:
Mark Ellis
Andre Ethier

Hanley Ramirez
Justin Morneau
A. Soriano
Cruz
AJ Ellis
Yikes
And Ken Rosenthal is reporting that talks between the Dodgers and Cubs are gaining momentum. I'd like to see Soriano in this deal for Dempster.
