I would blame the coaches for this one, I predicted a close match up, They were thinking like how much the last games margin was "Don't believe the 'hype" Many players are so happy to even play for their countries it's their one chance their one oppertunity, Coaches needed to get more bigs , another example why Sterns suggestion is folly.

It doesn't matter is you think Spain is soft as marshmellows, they are talented and team USA isn't a team who is challenging toughness right now. All they do is shoot 3's and keep reaching in on defense to get steals (which they are being called for).I didn't say they were hard. But they're tougher than Spain.
Put our biggest guys in foul trouble and you'll see Spain walk all over us. It's obvious that team USA isn't as prepared as everyone thought they were, just playing purely off talent.

Coach K's spread offense suffers a bit too when they can't hit from the 3, when the spread aint working they need to use the pick and roll (which I think they aren't using enough).

Kleiza is pretty good at international level and is the leader of this team but he is a scrub in Toronto,he used to be backing up Carmelo not so long ago in Denver,Valanciunas is still raw,he can be useful on offense but his defense is suspectable so he doesnt have coach's trust and he is the only real center out there so most of the times we end up playing pf's in that position. Worth mentioning: Martynas Pocius who is playing for Real Madrid - athletic slasher,streaky shooter,good defender.(I think he could play in NBA someday
) and Jasikevicius who is turning 36 soon but amazingly he is still one of the top pg's in Europe and amazing big match player. Basically today it was all about team effort and pride. LiTHUANIA had no pressure on them and put up a fight.USA on the other hand looked lazy and at times and misssed a ton of 3pts but due to their quality managed to hold on.

If we somehow land Dwight Howard AND Nash (which is one of the biggest reaches I've posted, don't think that will happen), then yeah...I have no problem with it, because Howard won't allow anyone to take Nash off the dribble 30+ minutes a game.

Tough game vs a very well balanced and coached team from Lithuania. They executed their game plan perfectly. Slow the game down, create a lot of foul situations and spread the floor with timely shooting. We responded to the challenge by creating a lot of turnovers and getting out on the break. We felt we had a mismatch with LBJ being defended by their 4 man, so we gave him the ball and told him to attack. That's exactly what he did and we came away with a gritty W. We should have another fun one vs Argentina next
Can't wait.
