Yeah, kinda crazy, but not as much when you keep in mind Spain sent like their B or C squad. Either Spain was extremely overconfident in doing this or they simply did not care that much, but the way Honduras celebrated, they obviously cared quite a bit, lol.Oh [expletive]! Honduras eliminated Spain.

B team excuse really? It's the Olympics every team can only take U23 teams.^ Seriously, but then again, who knows? Maybe they'd rather try an appeal to the average white man demographic or something.Yeah, kinda crazy, but not as much when you keep in mind Spain sent like their B or C squad. To put things into perspective Spain is reigning Euro champion at U21 & U19 in addition to World Cup & Euro 2012 champs . So the fact that Honduras of all teams took them out is surprising.

Well yes of course. If this were like a world cup with full squads then yes, definitely.^ It IS surprising to me though. I've admitted that now given the information that you gave me. I'm simply still saying though that it's not AS surprising to me as it would be if it were their absolute best teams on all levels. Now that would be TRULY surprising to the utmost level.

From what i heard, this was Honduras first win ever in a FIFA sanctioned international tournament in their history. So it was a pretty big deal to them.^ By the way, despite it being an upset still and surprising, do you think it was sportsmanlike for Honduras to celebrate the way that they did after the game or a bit much?

It's still a shock that Spain lost. For those that follow soccer closely, you know that Spain's younger players are very good. Losses to Japan and Honduras are inexcusable, plain and simple.
I'm pretty sure not many people thought they'd lose their first two games and be eliminated before pool play even finished.
I have not enjoyed the soccer games in the Olympics because the games are just brutal. Lack of defense, below average offense, horrendous finishing. Brazil is really the only team I have enjoyed watching because of Neymar.
The sad part is this is what the committee wants to do to basketball. 23 and under.
