I think the mods should just close/delete the threads about the topics that have already been resolved. (Ex:Gerald Green/Elton Brand threads.)

It would make the forum much more organized and up to date...

I do not like the idea of deleting because it will erase all the posts the users contributed and will affect their post count.

You dont necessarily have to delete them. Many forums just close the thread once the topic is resolved and just take them away from the front page of a forum.

Not necesarily, but sure hell would if I lost some posts.

I say create an "Archive" section, move all the outdated/meaningless topics to that section. Problem solved.

I don't see any topics in Lakers Talk that are worthy of being locked (on the front page of the index).

Just recently, fido locked two topics (the Courtney Lee thread, and one about us using the amnesty on Ron Artest) because Lee found a home and the amnesty deadline passed.

But, there's no reason to lock anything that isn't similar to that, such as a topic about us signing Steve Nash.

As far as deleting topics, that's out of the question. The topics that get deleted are those that are duplicates, those that are spam/useless...and even though I haven't done it in a long time, previously locked topics that were getting out of hand (trolling, personal attacks, etc).

There are plenty of threads in the Sign/Trade Ideas part of the forum. Such as the Elton Brand or Gerald Green threads.

We don't really check into that sub-forum too often. Most threads are just of people having fun with the ESPN trade machine so we let it go. There's never really any threads that veer off-topic or really turn into anything lock worthy.
