The game would be MUCH closer. Also dont forget these games dont matter, so you might see a completely different Spain team in London.

I dont understand why some people in the US are so arrogant when it comes down to basketball. Are you forgetting we kept getting beat by other teams of the world before 2008?

USA is not some invincible opponent, they can be beat. Although I think Spain, Argentina, and Brazil are the only teams that can do it. MAYBE Lithuania too.

Let's not forget that USA didn't bring their best talent to international competition until '08 after Jerry Colangelo changed the program. After the 2000s, USA basketball fell into a funk and hit the lowest of lows in the '02 World Championships and the '04 Olympics. Neither George Karl or Larry Brown were able to harness the talent on those teams effectively nor convince the premier stars of the league to join up. It was more a lack of organization and commitment in USA basketball that led to such terrible results.

If they were able to convince the league's premier talent to sign up for international play, like they've done since '08, Team USA's international performances would have been much better.

True. I don't really think it's that much of a problem for them though. Bynum would be too slow to run with them and would take up too much space on the floor with his back to the basket game.

Bynum might be the worst player ever in international play. No joke. His game is the complete opposite of what you'd need from a big man. He's not mobile, lazy on the defensive end, and he wouldn't be able to pound the ball on offense like he did under Mike Brown. Guys like Chandler, Howard and Davis work because of their mobility and defensive talents.

Bynum would be so bad at guarding the foreign bigs who love to stretch the floor.

I'm not. I think Spain is a damn good team, but a USA team bringing it's premier talent and all of it's key pieces intact is probably unmatched around the world. I don't see any other international team capable of matching them talent-wise, especially with Coach K having inspired the entire team to buy into his defensive concepts.
