I'm not saying he is anywhere as good as Derrick Rose.
But after watching this video, it seems like his style is very similar.
Very explosive to the hoop with an average jumper.

One thing is for sure he is super athletic and looks like a dunk contest entry. Lakers could use him very well, he also looks like he has strength.

He sort of reminds me more of a Harden type though, and is left handed too. Maybe a little more athleticism but his style reminds me closer to that of a Harden than a Derrick Rose, with more explosiveness and leaping ability.

I agree. These kind of guys make the roster like 1 out of 50 times. usually they go D-league and maybe they will have one season riding the bench and then they get waived. People have to remember basketball doesn't have that many people on a team so not that many will survive in the NBA. But all the luck to the kid but I don't like to get my hopes up for players that we probably wont even here about again after a week from now.

Joe Crawford was done in the water before he even got here.

he was a forward we drafted at a time when we had Odom, Ariza, and Gasol who he wasn't going to unseat with a coach that hated rookies anyway, he wasn't going to get any chance whatsoever at a position we were already VERY deep in.

Our Guard position ain't exactly that deep and players can be packaged.

For instance, lets say we trade Steve Blake and McRoberts away or use them as trade filler or bait and Sessions has yet to resign currently.

So our guard position aside from Kobe is this

Point Guard: Darius Morris, Andrew Goudelock
Shooting Guard: Darius Morris, Andrew Goudelock

And if Sessions resigns our guard position is
Ramon Sessions, Darius Morris, Andrew Goudelock

Now being two positions deep at point guard and shooting guard is probably ideal for our team. And having a combo guard along with a pure guard and switching them out depending on the situation or lineup is NOT a bad thing either. So it ain't exactly the same situation as before. Maybe you should wait and watch him in the summer league before you decide.

Oh wait if he plays well in the summer league you'll say that it ain't against NBA players and he has to prove it in the game.

And if he goes out in a game and scored 15-20 points you'll say "it's just one game." But I guarantee the first bad game he has no matter how many good games he has where the answer is "it's just one game let's wait longer." his first bad performance ever will get "SEE! HE'S GARBAGE!" Am I in the park somewhere on that?

Unless he's a "star" then he's automatically going to be ridiculed by people who want "Deron or Bust" or refuse to believe that rookies can actually contribute to a team anymore unless a team other than us has them.

I'd rather say that the kid was good in college and I'd like to see how he adjusts to the NBA game, aside from saying "Oh he's gonna fail right off the bat cause his name isn't Deron Williams who I WANTED WAH!"

Let's wait and see shall we? I made the post about Goudelock AND Morris as my first post here, and Goudelock turned out to be a pretty good pick for us, Morris is gonna take longer to develop(obviously) but has quite the work ethic to go with. Having another young guard on this team is NOT a bad thing. Especially one that's as extremely athletic as this one is and can literally jump out of the gym.

So I'd actually like to see this guy in action before I write him off. The Lakers made two good picks today so I'm not gonna act like they didn't cause I didn't hear Williams or Howard's name today.

I wouldn't be surprised if he did make the roster, to be honest. Darius Morris and Andrew Goudelock are scrubs right now...don't care what anyone says. Neither came into the game and did what they were supposed to do...Goudelock tried, then fell out of his role and thought he was back in college, while Morris started acting like he was a two-guard.

DJ-O should just come in and play his game, and he'll be okay. I'm not comparing the guy to ANY NBA talent, though.
