Theres no way Durant is gonna stay in OKC for his career. After a Finals loss things on a small market team start to change internally. Ask the Cavs about that.
Theres no way Durant will resist playing in the 5 biggest markets eventually.
LA, Chicago, Miami, Dallas and NY.
I honestly believe 100% Durant will be a member of one of those teams in as little as 2 years regardless of the contracts and Sterns meddling and league interference.

The Lakers need to do whatever is possible to position themselves to attain him.

Durant doesn't seem like a player that cares about playing in a "big" market

Pau Gasol is GONE

"It hurts. It hurts, man. We're all brothers on this team. It just hurts to go out like this. We made it to the Finals, which was cool for us, but we didn't want to just make it there. … As a whole, I'm proud of the guys and how we fought all season. … I wouldn't want to play for anyone else, I wouldn't want to play for any other city." - Kevin Durant

peeps said the same [expletive] about me here on TLN when I said Bron would leave the Cavs 3 seasons before he left.
The NBA is a beast. Players bow down to the beast. Thats its nature.

edit:
my bad that was the old KB24.com actually when I said that.

I think he's one of those guys that stick with their team for life. Kind of like Kobe and Duncan.

Probably the only thing that will make him leave is a series of disappointing post seasos. He already has a WCF exit last season and a Finals loss .. But I doubt he pulls out a Lebron. That Thunder team is great, young and if the core stays intact and there are no internal conflicts for the spotlight they'll have multiple shots at the title in this decade.

i hope it turns out the way you said, id love to see Durant here for post-Kobe era. But Kobe is 34, he has 4 more years in Lakers uniform, then he'll retire. Until then, nobody can be the first option on this team, not Durant not even prime Kobe himself if somehow somebody manages to produce a clone of Kobe. That would be cool though. So as much as i want him here, i dont think its ever gonna happen. But im gonna tell you the truth, i wanted heat to win only because i want Durant to leave Okc.

No chance...at least in the next 5 years at this point. If he doesn't ring then I could see him chasing other teams at age 30ish.

Durant already signed an extension and won't be a free agent until 2016/2017. He's reportedly very content in OKC and loves being out of the media eye.

It's possible he could sign here later but very risky to wait on a player that will most likely sign an extension before his current deal expires.

Let's get a time machine and grab Michael Jordan in his prime while we're at it.

And I thought the Dwight Howard and Deron Williams proposals were ridiculous.

Lets wait some years and see what happens, no point in hoping what has that gotten us so far? Jack and [expletive] and jack left town.
