Hi friends. You've seen my work. I thought I would put it to video.

We need to get this in every Lakers fans hands we can. Not all of them come to message boards. I'll be hitting the message boards with vigor.

So, email the lnk to your fellow Lakers fans!

If you have a YouTube account, post a comment.

I'm not going to embed so you may use the full screen option to read the text better.

Enjoy!

Both franchise are most of the history of the NBA. It does not matter how you look at in which they are many ways. Just be thankful both teams all ways strive to win championships any thing less is a losing season for both. Proud to be a Celtc fan since 1964 as you as Laker fans are proud of your Lakers. When i lived in L.A. for a year i went to as many Laker games i could and that was in 1976/77. The team was not very good but it was my chance to see the Lakers in which i respected. It's still one of the best sports match up when these 2 teams play regular season or for the finals.

You need videos and music

Yeah, if I put music in it, it gets pulled down for copyright. You must be the unhappy camper who posted that on the YouTube link. I didn't leave those Celtics fans who don't want it up one inch to manuever to get it removed. I was going to post my "Banner 18" I made for the Celtics 18 playoff series losses with home court advantage, but that has a Celtics logo and culd have jeopardized its status online. Heck, i even wanted to call out a few screennames of some idiotic Celtics fans who I owned elsewhere, and who's fault it is this got posted, but I didn't. No quarter given.

Oh, by the way, I will be making another video proof soon Wilt > MJ, and I know you will hate that. Sorry, kind of your fault too. Don't worry, i won't call you out, lol. I'm the wrong guy to argue with, I know my stuff.

One thing about the Lakers 39-24 (finishing better)

You can't compare overall records if Celtics fans claim that the East was a tougher conference. You need to just compare head to head games.

At that, Lakers: 123 Celtics: 153
After Bill Russell retired: :Lakers 46 Celtics: 44

By Season head to head record, I don't know how it would come out though. I'll count it.

2011-2012: Lakers

Regular Season Series Score:
Lakers 23
Celtics 23
Ties 17

11 of the 17 championships from the Celtics came before 1970.

As you can see, the Lakers and Celtics have both won 23 season series' each. The reason why the margin in total games played is so much bigger is because the Lakers played the Celtics 9 times every year until the 1969-1970 season. They then played each other 4 times a season from 1970-1979. In the 1979-1980 season they finally played each other only 2 times a year.

Of course this isn't the best indicator of how good a team is. We beat dallas in the season series last year but they swept us in the playoffs. Unless the teams meet in the playoffs (which I didn't account for in my count) the regular season match up is the best indicator of which team is better.

By this logic a 2-80 Celtics would be better than a 80-2 championship Lakers if those wins were picked up only against the Lakers. I know it's dumb, but in my opinion you can't compare how far a team got in the playoffs just to indicate who the better team is. The East has been clearly weaker for the past few seasons (maybe not anymore). If the Celtics were better, and made it further in the playoffs or even made it to the playoffs, in the past 10 years. Laker fans would point to how weak their conference was. Also, Memphis beating the #1 Spurs is just a testament to how great and balanced the West is compared to the East. With the unbalencedness of the conferences, I just don't see it being logical of comparing teams to how far their playoff run was.

I am a Lakers fan, so to seal up the case even more I have questions for you:

My question to you is, how many times has the Lakers made it to the Finals where they lost to the ECF winner who beat the Celtics there?

How many times has the Celtics been beaten by the eventual Champions?
How many times has the Lakers been beaten by the eventual Champions?

How many non-HCA series wins do the Celtics have? Winning % (non-HCA wins/TOTAL non-HCA series')?
How many non-HCA series wins do the Lakers have? Winning % (non-HCA wins/TOTAL non-HCA series')?

How well do the Lakers defend HCA? Winning Percentage when having HCA?
How well do the Celtics defend HCA? Winning percentage when having HCA?

I didn't get in to head to head regular season, but since the ABA merger we only get to play Boston twice a year. When they were better, they got to play us 8 or so times in many years, that's what having an 8 team league will force. Now, we can only beat them twice a year and unless we sweep them, we tread water trying to catch up. Anyway, I left it out, most consider head to head regular season irrelevant.

Well, there are some drawbacks to my system of determining who is better each season by who went the furthest in the playoffs, but overall it is rock solid. The example would be, suppose every regular season game played was won by the west. It's easy to construct a scenario where the Celtics make the playoffs as the 8th seed with or fewer 30 wins, and the Lakers miss them with 50 wins. Therefore, the Celtics win that "season". Seasons like this are few and far between now. But overall, the system has merit. Of the 39-24, take out the titles each team won and it becomes Lakers 23 Celtics 7. In one of my threads, I itemize it year by year to see how the + - advanatage swayed over the years. Just look at the team histories at:

http://www.basketball-reference.com/teams/LAL/
http://www.basketball-reference.com/teams/BOS/

When you note the Lakers consistency over the years, remember, Boston once had it, but when we sent them on their 22 year draught, it's been a disaster for them. when I first started arguing this with that clown, Celtics_55, he didn't think those 22 years did them in, but then again, his refutations of my points consisted of either ignoring my points all together, or saying he refuted them all (with nothing more than his opinion). I chronicle my exploits with him in the Lakers Celtics rivalry thread in the Lakers History forum. Have a look if you haven't, its a sticky.

But since both teams are title oriented, you have to get to the playoffs to have a chance to win it all, and that's something that the Celtics do not do well at since 1987. Aside from the 9 seasons missing the playoffs since then, look how many first round exits they had! so, overall, my 39-24 is a true representation of Lakers domination and a fine counter.

I believe I have answered most your questions already in that aforementioned sticky thread, and a lot more similar stuff. Please have a look and report back here, then ask again what isn't answered. Thanks.

Thanks! Stick around, I've made some posts already here and there and plan more videos with more airtight proofs. One, of course, is Wilt is GOAT, not MJ, and Bill Russell is the most overrated player in NBA history. Until they appear, you'll have to go digging to see why I am right and others are wrong. Fact trumps opinion every time.

You need to chill. I was offering some constructive criticism with the thought that adding videos and music would enhance the youtube vid.

And how long ago was the Wilt/MJ debate? My position hasn't changed on that.

I am chill, I just have a photographic memory for many details. The topic was in NBA forum about Wiit's talent as a track and field athlete. You were very annoying in that thread, and I put you on ignore. You sidestepped it by changing your user name. But since I saw a similar post to yours in my YouTube comments, I am safe to say it could be you. If it isn't, no big deal, but I have a track record of spotting AE's on the internet and these similar posts would draw a red flag for anyone who noticed them both. Anyway, I did want to use pictures, I really did. I even talked to the staff here about using the LN logo, but just settled for a plug to the site in my oratory, and a link in description. I plan very precisely and accurately. If you want to win an argument, you lead, and you know your stuff. I lived through most these events, so i am somewhat of an authority myself.

Opinion is one thing, but facts are facts. Some of my recent posts here about Wilt > MJ, and Russell being overrated are due to revisionist historians influencing the masses. It's a darn right shame to see people drop Wilt even out of the top 10, and to call Bill Russell the greatest center ever because of his 11 rings. so, people follow the leader and if opinion says MJ is GOAT, or Russell is best center, they buy it because whoever wrote it is an authority. I even have a 4th video planned which I didn't mention, which will back up the other 3. Give me time, I should have plenty of it for the foreseeable future.

Seasons the Celtics lost ECF when Lakers won the championship (7): 1953, 1954, 1972, 1980, 1982, 1988, 2002
In NBA history, the Lakers have finished better than the Celtics by a margin of 41-25!

You know, for an old guy, you really lack humility.

My handle has never changed and when I did have another account...it had absolutely NOTHING to do with you. Hell, I don't even think you were a member of the site at that time. Don't make assumptions and talk about things that have nothing to do with you.

I don't even post comments on youtube.
