InsideSoCal: I think it could be like that again this year where there's a five-game difference between 1-8,'' Fisher said, when asked if the Western Conference would be as tough this season. ``So you can't take November and December off and think, `We'll turn it on at the All-Star break' or you'll be too far behind. We have to be ready to go in two weeks.''

You have to be ready to go in two weeks when the season starts? Haha is that really noteworthy news?

Its noteworthy because, IMHO the Lakers goal should be 73W9L to beat the bulls record and to win a Chip. I know most would agree that the record isnt that important but if we can have that intidmidation factor that the Shaq-Kobe teams had for 2 years

IMO, regular season record is not just to get the no.1 seed, but also get the chemistry really peaking, any number wun pay dividends until we win the trophy. Just get the 1st seed, play real well cohesively and we'd be contented.

I'd be happy with 59-23 or 60-22 as a minimum.

I love Derek Fisher, always have and always will. The guy represents everything about leadership you want on a team. Just by pointing this out - "So you can't take November and December off and think, `We'll turn it on at the All-Star break' or you'll be too far behind. We have to be ready to go in two weeks.'' He's and infinite upgrade over Smush Parker.

Fisher has been trying to lead his teammates to the right direction this year, which is an extremely good thing.

First he says that defense is the most important thing they need to focus on and then now he basically says that they need to play hard all 82 games. That shows you what kind of leadership this guy has.

Agreed.

It's noteworthy because some fans are a bit worried for the preseason slump, IMO it's really nothing too serious, everything will work out fine.
