Nah, it's just a game of basketball in the Olympics.

These guys are putting in work to accomplish a goal so despite the fact that they're already getting paid millions of dollars to play in the NBA...they should also get paid for services in the Olympics.

Exactly,So why does he wanna get paid millions for 2 months of work... that's just being selfish imo

It's basketball. He's a paid athlete so he should get paid for his work.

Nobody is pointing a gun to his gun and making him play for his own home country.

Wade is getting paid because he gets paid for endorsement deals when he plays in the Olympics. Wade is replaceable... Team USA can replace him.

I think it's more than being patriotic. First, It's a honor to play in the Olympic. Secondly, I could see him asking for some pay if he was making $35,000 a year like an average working American but the dude is getting paid millions of dollars a year just from his nba contract. Most people won't make what he is making, 15.5m, in their whole life. 8 year olds are getting paid 5 cents an hour to make his shoes.....and he is asking for money to play in the Olympics.... idk thats just how I feel about the whole situation.

He has the right to feel that way if he wants certainly, but the wise move is that if you do, keep that [expletive] to yourself. Totally sounds like a douchebag and will rub a ton of people (more than not) the wrong way. Horrible move by Wade.

He's now said two things relating to our country/patriotism that were in real poor taste. This and the twin towers comment.

Wow...Representing your country isn't enough he wants to get paid. Yup representing the country that gave you the opportunity and freedom to accomplish all that you've accomplish in your life which in return gave you back fame, success, and millions of dollars. No thats not enough to represent ones country, he wants more..

I like the Olympics but a lotta people I know really don't give a [expletive] about it.

He's not obligated to do it and I guess they're not obligated to pay him millions. No one should do it for free though (unless they just want to)
