i really hope we don't trade for Dickey he's 38 years

i also hope we keep Dee Gordon......he's gonna bounce back and have a good career...itll be a big mistake to trade him

he has the potential to steal 60-90 steals a season depending if he can on base more often

i wish he could play 2nd base for us instead of awful Mark Ellis

Mark Ellis isn't awful. He's a typical veteran player who does the little things.

Dee Gordon may be one of the worst defensive players in the league right now. His game is all speed right now but he's not a very good lead off hitter, can't bunt efficiently, and can't get on base consistently.

He's young but for the next two years he might be no better than a base runner for us. If you can get a good return, you pull the trigger.

RT @ScottMCBS: Growing feeling among #Dodgers people that Greinke may wind up w/ #Rangers. Reasoning: If he really wanted LA, could have signed by now

If he winds up with the Rangers, it will be because of reluctance of the Dodgers to include a no trade clause. Kasten has a policy for players to not have a trade clause put into their contracts, was like that in Atlanta years ago.

I hope we get Greinke but if not, just gotta look elsewhere. Backup plan will more than likely be Anibal Sanchez. Still wouldn't mind James Shields either.

^ Hey Mark Ellis is legit!!! seriously he's a great 2nd baseman, just cause he's not an all star smh

I like Mark Ellis's D but i wish he could platoon with Gordon instead of trading Dee when he has low trade value

this was on MLBtraderumors earlier

"Greinke's wife Emily, a former Dallas Cowboys cheerleader, could influence her husband to get back to Texas, hears Joel Sherman of the New York Post. Now I'm reminiscing about all the Amber Sabathia-related rumors from four years ago. Sherman hears the Greinke deal will get done at these Meetings or shortly thereafter."

I really hope we don't sign Anibal Sanchez....of the players available in trade i'd take James Shields

Good thing about the Dodgers is that we already have an Ace in Kershaw so it's not like we are searching for that, we just want to make sure we have a solid #2 guy.

If its Geinke great, if not, not a huge deal. If its not Greinke though, expect some sort of trade involving Gordon to get a pitcher. Some fans don't want to trade Gordon but sometimes you have to give something to get something and our farm system isn't the deepest at the current moment.

Ken Rosenthal@Ken_Rosenthal

Sources: Greinke talks reaching critical stage. #Dodgers considering pulling out and moving on to other pursuits.

Welp

RT @TBrownYahoo: The Dodgers appear to be closing in on signing Zack Greinke. Still some ground to be covered, but they're out in front.

A lot cheaper than what I thought it was going to be. I was thinking about the 160-175 million range

EDIT: Not really cheap but you know what I mean

Jon Heyman@JonHeymanCBS
even with greinke. word is #dodgers may try for another big free-agent starter. anibal seems to top the rest of their list.

Either this is a ploy to scare Boras and Ryu or they are going to add Sanchez and go into the season with:

Kershaw
Greinke
Beckett
Sanchez
Billingsley

i didn't want Zack because i thought he was going to get 7 years with 170+ million

if it's really 6/145MM then i'm happy

i'm not sure if i'd take Ryu or Sanchez next...both will cost about the same because of Ryu's posting fee

This tweet about sums it up:

RT @ArashMarkazi: Is Zack Greinke's $147 million contract ridiculous? Sure. Almost as ridiculous as the $7 billion TV contract the Dodgers are about to sign.
