If they do trade Ethier, I expect it to be for a starting pitcher.
Then the Dodgers should go out and sign Michael Bourn to play center field. He's young and can absolutely fly.

Wouldn't mind this either. Never approved that massive contract given to Ethier for the player he is. He's solid for sure, but for that money, we deserve a player or more of better quality & consistency.
He may very well be the runner up prize for the teams that miss out on Hamilton.
I just hope we don't resign Victorino. I mean it wouldn't be the worse thing in the world but I'd much rather go out and get younger like Bourn. If Victorino is brought back, then I'm convinced they are waiting for Yasiel Puig to come up.
You know what's interesting, the Angels may look to trade Dan Haren, while the Dodgers are looking for SP. Ethier to Anaheim? Hmmmmm. He'd fit in right with Trout and Trumbo. Angels would need to send a prospect or two with Haren but intriguing to think about. I think the Dodgers can get a lot more than Haren though.

With Bills avoiding surgery reportedly, Kershaw/Shields/Billingsley/Beckett/Harang is a formidable rotation.
The Dodgers have identified James Shields as their top target, Mark Saxon of ESPNLosAngeles.com reports (hat tip: Rays Index). The Rays will exercise the right-hander’s 2013 option, but could consider trading him as a way of freeing up payroll and addressing other needs.
Dodgers GM Ned Colletti aims to add a starting pitcher this offseason, Saxon writes. Shields would be an excellent fit, as I suggested when previewing the Dodgers’ offseason. The 30-year-old posted a 3.52 ERA with 8.8 K/9 and 2.3 BB/9 in 227 2/3 innings this past season and his contract includes an option for 2014.
Colletti said he has also spoken to the agent for left-handed reliever Randy Choate. The Dodgers made their first major offseason move last night, signing Brandon League to a three-year deal

How do you feel bout that
I definitely wouldn't mind it. I've read he's a really good hitting coach.

The #dodgers strongly pursuing #Angels Torii Hunter
Don't do it Torii!

Don't do it Torii!
False that they are strongly pursuing him.
The Dodgers met with Tori by request of his agent, they didn't come to him. He'd be their 4th outfielder and he already said he's not ready to take a back seat.

We have that Cuban Puig down in the minors....we spent around 40 million on him and he only got rated somewhere in the 90's of top 100 prospects
we just won the bid for that Korean pitcher Ryu....the problem is.....he's projected to be a middle of the rotation pitcher
the posting bid was 25 million and they're gonna have to pay more than that for his salary
it's good that they want to be aggressive but they need to be much smarter than this
i really feel trading Ethier's awful contract would be a very smart decision.....i doubt he will stay productive for another 5 years when he's been getting worse every year...trade him while he's still got some value!!!!

You could have a solid rotation if you happen to steal Greinke.

"Hiroki Kuroda has told friends that his preference is to pitch in southern California to be near his daughters' grade school, reports Mark Saxon of ESPN Los Angeles. Saxon speculates this could make the Dodgers and Angels the favorites for Kuroda's services, with the Dodgers having the "presumptive edge" with Kuroda due to their past history."

"The Dodgers are the favorite to sign Zack Greinke according to an insider. Both the Angels and Rangers are said to be "on the outside looking in." "
If we get Zack we will have a great staff
1. Kershaw 2. Greinke 3. Beckett 4. Ryu
5. Lilly/capuano/Harang/ bills
if Lilly and Billingsly are healthy Cap and Harang are the most likely to be traded

Hope we can get him though. Would really give us a legitimate starting rotation.
