Saw it today. Thought it was pretty good. Just don't understand what the point was of those kids being in this drawing and competition though? But nonetheless, I'm glad I saw it..it was a last-min decision sorta lol.

And oh...Liam Hemsworth was so hot

But ya..I have yet read the books though, and they've been recommended to me by a couple people before, so I may dive into those books some time when I have the time.

I have not read the book but it seems a lot of racist [expletive]s out there are pissed the character RUE is played by a black girl which by the way does a great job in the movie.

so i saw this movie today, and i thought it was ok

i never read the book, so i was confused at some parts, but someone who has read it filled me in on the back story

idk why ppl were getting upset over the girl who played rue tho, she was barely even in the movie for like 30mins

and the girl who played the lead character is cute, she kinda reminds me of demi lovato (and i love that girl)

Yeah, she does kinda look like her. She is on her way to becoming a great actress. She was nominated for Best Actress for Winter's Bone, which was decent, but a little overrated to me.

went with a friend she had an extra ticket, had no idea it was a book until she told me as far as a movie goes I thought it was okay i porbably had to read the book to really get into it but i would rate it a 5/10 avg

Yea thats how I feel my little sisters saw it and were explaining it to me and I was completely uninterested, then my friend went and was telling me about it too and it still didn't appeal to me. But it's getting such great reviews I'll watch one day not in theaters.

Just don't understand what the point was of those kids being in this drawing and competition though?

They're supposed to be tributes as a reminder of the great war they had. It's supposed to be reassurance that another one never breaks out.


I personally thought the movie was great for what the production crew had to work with. The book is in first person and it's hard to have a lot of character development when you can't get the same insight from the movie as you can in the book.

A lot of people had problems with the casting, from Rue, to Thresh and Cinna, and even Katniss (who is supposed to be olive skinned, small for her age, and grey-eyed). Whatever. Rue and Thresh were described has having dark skin and dark eyes, and Cinna is supposed to be a light-skinned flamboyant middle-aged dude. They were exactly how I read them to be, except Cinna wasn't flamboyant enough.

Another thing that bothered me is the critics who said Jennifer Lawrence is fat and, therefore, not fit to play a physical teenager. What in the actual [expletive]? The girl has the most ideal, realistic body type in Hollywood right now.

In other news, Catchy Fire is being casted right now and is scheduled to release in late 2013. Too long of a wait for someone like me.

One thing that bothered me though, i didnt like how peeta stayed alive, it defeated the whole purpose of katniss being a one woman army
