I have been following him ever since the nets signed him and every game I see he's putting up double figures off of the bench.....

its easy to do that in a team were the only scorer is Derron Williams there's a reason he goes for 40+ a game

This is his first game he's put up big points. He was averaging 6 ppg before this game.

This and plus the only reason he put up 26 tonight is because Deron did not play tonight

And wouldn't you want a Guard-Forward that's in his early 20s, athletic and capable of giving you 20+ points off the bench? Can you name a player on the Lakers bench that you can really count on for 20 points if you asked it of him that isn't a rookie?(which is bad enough as it is)

I said we should have gotten Gerald after we didn't get JR. Guard-Forward, Athletic, leap out the building, has range and was working on his post game. Something the Lakers bench could need, then we wouldn't need to be trying to get a Beasley.

And Kobe is basically our only scorer.... Pau wants to shoot jumpers all day and Bynum is inconstant on top of that we don't have a point gaurd to set him up for easy baskets.... He would at least given us some athletisim and energy off the bench like Shannon brown did ...

He shows he can score when his number is called, it's not like he couldn't do it consistently if asked. He showed tonight basically what I said that he CAN score if it's asked of him and if he was on the Lakers especially on their bench squad it would be between him and Barnes for the bench spot. But he's capable of playing the 2,3 and 4 from the bench so he would be an invaluable asset, especially the fact that he has range AND athleticism. So I seen what this kid can do, that's why I wanted the Lakers to give him a second chance. Hopefully we do after this season if NJ doesn't offer him a contract to stay.

He can play the 2, 3 and 4 position so I'm sure he would have gotten touches on our bench.

Even 8 points on our bench is acceptable, but he's capable of 20+ if he was asked so... he would have been a great asset.

Just because he put up numbers in a single game doesn't make him a player that can do it consistently.

I'm not saying he's a bad player, I'm just saying just bc he has one good game doesn't mean he's this all world bench player. Von Wafer scored 23 versus the Lakers one time, so he's capable of putting up double digit points off the bench.

Let Green put up more stats like this consistently and I'll change my tune and say we should have signed him. But as of right now, it's just one game.

because as I already explained in the thread in the 2nd post, he'd been working on his range, post game, among other things in the D-league and I was seeing consistency from him in terms of his improved play, and everyone questioned it, and then he became MVP of the D-league all star game, and now he's on the Nets and today he puts up 20+ when people said he may not be able to score on the NBA level.

D-League does not matter when it comes to stats. Trey Johnson proves that.

I will correct myself from my previous post. We should have signed him just so Kapono wouldn't play anymore
